    Default Sisters of Mercy?

They are on tour right now (seeing them end of November @ the Commodore) and will just be finishing the European leg by the end of March. A long shot? Any other fans who'd like to see them?

just so ya know, not really an ouch, i am a fan.. but i see a lot of posts about people wanting to see all kinds of bands that are on tour, and based on the venue sizes they are playing and still not selling out, the demand doesnt seem as high as the fan who is posting it thinks.

    LONG LIVE SISTERS!

Sisters were great when I saw them in 1991 and 2006 but there still wasnt a big demand for them in a lot of cities. They would be great in the Mojave about 9pm. I think so much time elapsed since they put out music some people forgot about them or wrote them off.

I have to agree with PF on this. I am also a fan of the Sisters (although the last time I saw them was the VT Tour in 90) - but I believe their ability to contribute to Coachella would be limited. Of bands seen as a similar genre and time period, Bauhaus is much *much* bigger and yet 95% of the auduence was there for COldplay '05 which led to a rather subdued audience response. They later toured and did not sell out (I saw them at the Ventura Theatre with a very small crowd of old people like me in their 30s). L'n'R was a stellar show last year but only a couple hundred showed up to that one (including myself). I think the SoM would fare even worse, even if they managed to get the original line-up together.

it could work if they had a headliner like the cure playing after them

i dont know much of their music but what i have heard i have liked. they're one of those bands i've been meaning to see for years but tickets to their shows are always just a little beyond my "thats too much" limit. well, after the $20 in service charges and facility fees that is

    I saw them in '06.

I have never been so disappointed by a band I love so much.

I am a fan of the Sisters of Mercy (a pretty big one) but I admit certain facts:
    1. Andrew Eldritch is an obnoxious egostical fool - he is not half as good as he thinks he is
    2. Eldritch ruins every one of his good songs every time he remixes it or tries to modernize it (see the downward spiral of the Temple of Love from its excellent original)
    3. The Sisters of Mercy have become progressively worse over the years and have in fact been in a downward spiral since the band left to form the Mission UK... it just seemed less noticable 'til Vision Thing. Scary thought: THAT WAS 25 years ago!
    4. His insistance on alienating his fans and claiming not to be "goth" is annoying.

They are a joke sub NIN tribute act now such a shame as used to be so good.

Funny to see them in the 100 degree heat along with fields of the nephilim in the lovely sunshine......
