Default The Killers' New Album "Day & Age"

At the risk of getting a lot of shit... as I used to give people who liked The Killers I am starting a thread about the new album. For a long time I hated them too (just like Coldplay), but I think playing "When You Were Young" in Rock Band ingrained them into my head and now I like them... especially a lot of Hot Fuss. I am also now going to see them at the Warfield on 10/21 so have been listening to them a lot recently, but from what I have heard, even people who don't like them and see them live say they put on a great show.

The have a new album coming out in November and could possibly play Coachella so deal with it...

    This is the official tracklist...

    Day & Age Tracklisting:

    Losing Touch
    Human
    Spaceman
    Joyride
    A Dustland Fairytale
    This Is Your Life
    I Can't Stay
    Neon Tiger
    The World We Live In
    Goodnight, Travel Well

They actually played two of new songs on SNL last weekend, but I can't find the YouTube videos that Spin posted anymore cause they were taken down, but here are some new songs...

    Human

    Spaceman

    Neon Tiger

I'm also curious who around here actually likes them...

they could absolutely play at night on the outdoor, or in the mojave, or around 4 PM on the main stage.

they are simply not important enough to headline.

their egos based on general popularity and record sales will make it certain that they would do no less than headline a day. the just wouldn't do it otherwise...i'm not saying they deserve it, but they wont be second or 3rd...

    then it won't happen.
good for them: they're such colossal, arrogant assholes, that they won't play "america's premiere rock festival" unless they're billed first. good. then they won't be there, and someone with a hint of talent can replace them

    edit:
also, stop taking spin magazine seriously.

The only time i saw them they were headlining not so silent night. My opinion of thecshow is gonna be biased becasue i had my mouth wired shut 2 days before that show and my jaw was broken. by the time they came on my viccadin had worn off and i hated them so much live. branden flowers pissed me off.
on a better note i would like to give them another chance if no conflicts were happening.

I'm telling you people: they would not be offered the headlining spot.

    just get over it

    edit:
yeah, that list I could see.
although I can't imagine the killers being billed above arcade fire. and we all know how I feel about win butthead

why wouldnt they play second to the white stripes?
the white stripes have released six albums. the first one in 1999.
the killers have released two. the first one in 2004.
if brandon flowers seriously thinks hes better and bigger then the white stripes then i take back all the statements i said about giving them another chance.

i obviously have no clue, but i think they'd feel equal or better to them where someone like gabriel or bowie is obviously too big.

I don't like them either but they are a big draw in Southern California. They sold out Staples Center last time they were here. If they play they headline like friday or sunday.

They declined to headline Glastonbury a few years back when they were even offered it. Don't really see how that makes them egotistical assholes.... Also don't see what's so amazing about them, either. Brandon Flowers sounds to be tone deaf every performance I've ever watched...

Bowie and Byrne have amazing back catalogs but when is the last time either one of them had a top 40 hit or a song played on MTV.

Yeah but what sells out festivals? Reunions of washed up rap/rock and/or Madonna, not real artists

I think that is the point vinyl is trying to make

    what?
    1) the killers are not 'real artists'. if they're true artists, then so are lindsay lohan, simple plan, and the pussycat dolls.
the killers are horseshit corporate drivel. say waht you want about rage against the machine, but ask any member of just about any band out there today and they'll tell you who's the real artists out of those two bands. good lord.

and how was that the point I was trying to make? you're the first one to bring up rage. and nobody here is asking for them back, anyways. get fucked, you mentally incapacitated jizz-puddle

When they were last an active, recording act?
That's a retarded comparison. And, Prince charted with his singles at very least in the R&B charts, but I think in the pop charts as well.

The Killers could headline, methinks. They're one of very few contemporary acts who could. And, I'd watch some of it at least.

I will not be getting this. Sam's Town blows so incredibly hard. Hot Fuss is the only thing worth having, and even that you have to hide from other people.

    * Dillon Francis + Anamanaguchi -- December 28th

Going to Weekend 1 of Coachella 2014

like, what are these people on? the killers HEADLINING COACHELLA?!! the killers are not more important in the world of rock than say, interpol, sonic youth, stars, or the raconteurs, and none of those people have headlined coachella. the only comparable individual in terms of demographic appeal was jack johnson. jack johnson was an obvious anomaly on the festival circuit last year- there was some kind of deal his people had made. I 100% guarantee it- he'd never have been a headliner without some serious sway, financial or otherwise. the most damning evidence in that situation was the smallest crowd I've ever seen at night around the main stage.

the killers aren't headlining, and trolls need to stop picking disingenuous little bullshit fights with me, making shit up and throwing around baseless accusations, because, unlike them, my reading comprehension is just fine and dandy, and I'm capable of dissecting their shit.
