Bone Thugs and Harmony

Any Bone Thugs fans on this board? Obviously they were huge in Ohio but I'm wondering if anyone on the west coast gives a shit about them. What I particularily like about them is that they're skinny little MF'ers, not physically intimating in the least yet they hold their own against hip hop giants. Maybe not so much lyrically (althought their lyrics are fine) but their flows and overall vocal abilities rival that of any hip hop group, yes even Wu Tang. Creepin on ah Come Up is still the best album, but they haven't dropped off much at all. The last album was solid. They would be great at Coachella, not hipster fluff and not hardcore gangsta shit like 3 6 Mafia either, a nice middle ground.

Not to be antagonistic or anything, but I always thought they were kind of cheesy. I guess I'm just not into sentimental soulful crooning too much. It's the same problem I have with Tupac. I'm not doubting either one's skills, but I personally can't dig it. And growing up in NE Ohio, my life has been oversaturated with Bone Thugs, which has increased my aversion to them (and all juggalo music for that matter). Give me Wu-Tang any day.

I hear ya, but they're not so huge outside of NE Ohio. In fact, lots of people have never even heard of them, even some younger hip hop fans and they're much better than that Lil Wayne bullshit they're being forcefed. Just trying to point some young'uns in the right direction.

I was exposed to all their stuff.
Alot of people just know Crossroads n stuff, but they've had a bunch of good albums, as well as solo albums too.

I'm surprised they aren't bigger than they should be.

althoug i used to dig their version, i dont much anymore. but i do enjoy some of their old songs. and 2pack, thats exactly why i dont like his stuff. if i want r&b ill listen to barry white or something.

i fucking love Bone Thugs. Always have always will. Creepin on Ah Come up is one of the best rap albums ever. I have their videos on dvd. cheesy and awesome.

The reunited Bone Thugs-n-Harmony have reportedly been seen in studio working together for the first time in many years. [3] In a recent interview, Bizzy confirmed his return to the group, spurred by Flesh's release and Layzie Bone's diplomacy; the five are indeed now working on a new studio album, having recorded 10-20 tracks out of a possible 100-200. The rise of Cleveland's Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is a classic example of the American Dream, a group of five young "brothas" who had a goal and would not allow any barriers to stop from attaining this goal. Layzie Bone, Krayzie Bone, Wish Bone, Flesh-N-Bone and Bizzy Bone went from being broke, hungry and homeless in 1993 to watching their brand of flowing, rolling, rapid-clip, harmonized rap -- dubbed the "Cleveland Sound" -- hit the top of the charts.

In November 1993, they bought one-way Greyhound tickets to Los Angeles determined to prove their talents to their favorite rapper, the late Eric "Eazy-E" Wright of N.W.A. fame. They spent months living on the street, constantly trying to contact Eazy-E, until they finally received a call from him. They rapped for him on the phone. He said he'd get back with them, but never did. When they learned Eazy was doing a show in Cleveland, they hustled up more money for bus tickets and headed back. They found him backstage and after their second audition, Eazy signed them to his Ruthless Records label.

Bone's debut single, "Thuggish Ruggish Bone," sold more than 500,000 copies and the video was the cable music channel the Box's most-requested of 1994. Their Ruthless/ Relativity EP debut, Creepin' On Ah Come Up, started moving large quantities shortly after its June 1994 release, shot past triple-platinum sales and became an R&B, and Rap chart topper.

As the EP continued its reign atop the charts, the group began work on their debut LP, E. 1999 Eternal. The new album was released in 1995, and proved a great blend of sweet soul harmonies and boulevard mentalities. The album's tribute to their dead homies, called "See You At The Crossroads," became an MTV smash hit, launching them into mainstream radio play. The song took on an unexpected meaning after Eazy-E's March 1995 death.
