Just listened to the whole show, the new songs being so Avey-centric makes me very happy.

They were so awesome. I love the steely, quiet onstage confidence they exude.

I am also forever grateful that they pushed so many people away & put me in an ideal position for balloon density.

I don't think a full one has surfaced yet, but it definitely got recorded.

Dave sings lead on 85% of every album and I like that. Noah is great with what he does but when it's an Animal Collective song I'd rather hear Dave. All of my favorite tracks are his: "Street Flash," "Banshee Beat," and "Kids on Holiday."

Holy smokes! AC were playing these four AMAZING tracks live 2 years before their cd release? As much as I love "Knock You Down" I do think they can hone in on that track a lot more, I'm hoping by the time they put out a record again that song will be another killer jam.

My favorite show was the Wiltern in 2009. In hindsight, the best setlist I've seen was the Fonda in 2007, but I had just gotten home from a weeklong roadtrip the day before and I'd just watched The Assassination of Jesse James a couple hours prior. I could tell they were killing, but I was too tired to process it properly.

They didn't play Peacebone at all in '09. Supposedly they needed Deakin to pull it off live.

Really? That's what I thought at first, but that's a ton of MPP songs, they really played that many back in '07? Strange.

That's what I was saying earlier:

I have a feeling AC likes to keep their best material on hold for a while to get it perfect for when they need to release another CD.

That would have been after Strawberry Jam, so it makes sense. I definitely saw them play Peacebone without Deakin though.

Oh and when I was doing Coachella research in 2008 and first got into them, of course I found out they play new stuff live. There were plenty of recordings out there with those songs. I knew them all and was one of very few singing along.

My favorite set from Animal Collective was their most recent at Coachella. Last week was my 7-9th times seeing them, I was looking forward to all the new material. The first 6 times seeing them was from Coachella 08 to ATP 09, so I saw all of the MPP stuff plenty. Excluding Bluish because I don't think that was ever played live, I've seen every song from MPP except Taste, most multiple times. Maybe it was partially the drugs, but every song was incredible. I really dug how noisy it was and everything they did to the old songs. Plus the visuals. Ridiculous. I need a full good quality recording of this! My next favorite set was Big Sur.

Well, after I was on the fence about going, Avey Tare blew me away last night at The Catalyst. I would have been really sad to have missed that. Inca Ore totally killed it too.
