Just what are you implying here? They've only released two songs...which aren't even on the new LP.

I was referring to the artwork of MPP, not the album. Clearly the cover FEELS posted trumps it. Real talk though:

chances are it WILL be superior to MPP. Rhythmic, psychedelic gold.

It was really important for us to do something that sounded a little bit rawer, more excitable. Higher energy. To me, Merriweather has this more mellow atmosphere; the pace and tempos on this one are a lot quicker. We just wanted to do a lot of jammers, and not a lot of ambient, spacey stuff. It was nice to take a break from that.

anyone that counts on how the lp will sound based on the preceding shows hasn't paid attention to AC's career.

It's more based on a combination of the songs we've heard and the band members' interviews. They seem to speak of the sound heading back to a more rhythmic, raw direction, like their older material. All this points to good signs, IMO.

I love the venue they're using in austin. an outdoor ampitheatre setting that reminds me of the outdoor stage. all GA and only $40 for the show.

There's no doubt about it: people are going to react to this….There was an instant melodic gratification to Merriweather and I think we intentionally made a record this time that is a lot more…um… [laughs] We took a left turn at weird town."

"From the first note of Merriweather you’re like, 'Oh my God, I just wanna dance' or 'My heart's exploding.' This is more like, 'This is amazing but I'm confused and I don't quite know what's going on and I think I need to listen to it again and maybe I should turn it off.'"
