I don't know all of the history, I guess I just assumed those organizations were older than they are. When I was growing up it was just WWF, then WCW came along and failed.

NWA preceded WCW. There are lots of present and former independent wrestling organizations, like Mid SOuth, not to be confused with Mid Southern. XPW was located in the San Fernando Valley (my neighborhood), and its titular leader, Rob Black, also produced pornographic films.

eh, if we were still in the 80's, then maybe these smaller independent outfits would mean something....but these days, they're just a waste of time...except for those cast offs from WWE who find themselves out of job and shit out of luck because there is no wrestling union.

What about NWA/TNA (now just TNA)? They are pretty large.

TNA is never gonna be huge...their production value is so fucking shitty, it's not even funny. Plus their major draw is washed up/former WWE stars....and who is getting all the booking and major matches? The washed up/former WWE stars....who is being overlooked? the younger "original" talent (outside of 2-3 guys)....remind you of any former wrestling company that eventually went under? TNA is like the K-Mart of wrestling, sad to say. I just don't see it ever suceeding on a major level. If they even have a chance, they're gonna have to do touring live shows and have a Monday show on TV. I think Christian is actually leaving them and coming back to WWE.

It seems Goldust is coming back to the WWE full time....I'm okay with that, as I always liked that character, but I doubt he's ever gonna be used properly, I'm sure it will just be for comedic moments alongside Santino.

I'm not really thrilled about the upcoming SS. My picks are Cena wins via DQ, Triple H retains the title (as he always does - he never lets go of his belts), Taker wins obviously, Team HBK, Team Orton, and who cares about the diva match up, that will just end up in all the women hopping about the ring 5 minutes into it.

Dustin Rhodes is obese, just like his father Dusty Rhodes. I still miss Tiger Chung Lee.

This has been such a lackluster Survivor Series so far. Is anyone else watching? That was the worst casket match I can remember seeing.

If you lose a casket match, does that mean your career as a wrestler is dead?

No, usually they just take a few months off or so to sell it. Edge is champion! That was a nice surprise. The crowd was booing the shit out of that match until he showed up.

I guess Rick Flair is too old to wrestle. I want to see how TNA puts on a pay per view.

I have a friend who is really into wrestling, and he invited me over to watch it with them. Being a sunday afternoon for us, I said why the hell not and went over. That was fucking AWFUL. please tell me all the PPV's aren't all like that now. Not a single quality match, the closest was Jericho v. Cena and that was painfully predictable.

Why such bad quality. Were the matches really mismatches? Was the writing predictable? Wrestling was better when I ws a kid. I miss the Iron Sheik.

Yes. To answer your question, yes every single WWE PPV is put on, more or less, like the one put on tonight. Thank god I went and saw a movie instead.

Nothing beats the old school federations, like the American Wrestling Association, National Wrestling Alliance and others. They had really good matches with top level athleticism and did not insult the fans with inane plot lines. Sadly, those days are likely gone forever.

The WWE needs to hire new writers. Their talent is okay, but their situations and matches need major improvement.

Rumble tonight....I've always enjoyed this PPV because it's sort of unique. I think obvious choice for winner is Randy Orton, but sometimes the WWE likes to make you think the obvious will happen, but then go with something else (for better or worse). So who really knows. I also like this HBK/JBL storyline...hope it continues. I also think Christian returns tonight.

It's nice to know they still have the Royal Rumble. When I was growing up, my favorite PPV was the Royal Rumble. I have some good memories of Lex Luger and Bret Hart ending the match in a tie. Shawn Michaels being the first one in and winning the whole thing. And I will never forget the Yokozuna/Undertaker casket match from RR 94.

Christian returns tonight to coincide with this idiotic storyline they're running with Jeff Hardy. Orton (rightfully) will win the Rumble (I predict him, Rhodes, HHH and Umaga in the final 4). Cena squashes JBL. And nothing really exciting happens given the stupid PPV being put on next month with two fucking Elimination Chambers for both titles...

    I hate overbooking.

I think you're referring to 2002 (when HHH won). Mr. Perfect was also the last guy to be eliminated (by Hogan) in 1990.

I've met Mr Perfect I wonder if my mom still has that picture.

Royal Rumble is my favorite event although I haven't watched wrestling in 7 years. Is it even interesting anymore?
