TNA is worse than the WCW's "Dungeon of Doom" era.

It's WWE way of trying to save face, with what could be a pretty louse WM card (outside of a Taker/HHH match - IF that happens). Not sure I care about Rock being a "guest host"...either wrestle a match (with Cena I guess) or GTFO. Nonetheless, he did have a great promo last night, especially ripping both Cena and Michael Cole.

Did anyone watch the big event tonight? I was out today so I didn't get a chance to watch, but the only match I really wanted to see, HHH vs Taker, I heard was a fucking beast, with some possible real legit injuries at the end...sounds crazy, really need to see it. I'll be searching endlessly over the next day or so to find a link to it.

the hhh and taker match was the best of the night, which is not saying a lot. their match in wm 17 2001 was better. this one was just a spotfest with no consistency throughout the match. main event was garbage with a 1999 wcw-like ending. worst wm since 13.

i watched an online stream though so at least i didn't pay for this poor product lol

smackdown title match opening wm was bad too. i guess winning the royal rumble holds no prestige anymore when del rio basically jobbed clean against edge lol

Yeah that kinda caught me off guard, Del Rio losing...but then again, I also don't think the winner of the RR needs to win the title EVERY year...also why is that the opening match? The bookers really need to get their shit together. And Daniel Bryan's match was kept off the PPV? Wtf?

yeah the booking fucked up putting young stars like del rio, bryan, sheamus, ziggler and morrison in the back burner.

only good thing i can see resulting from this travesty is a triple-threat match with the rock, miz and cena for the next ppv

I haven't been keeping up with the WWE for years, but man this show was shitty. Besides the Taker/HHH match, I thought the Orton/Punk match was great and had some killer in ring psychology.

Damn. What the fuck were they smoking when they booked this show?

I watched the rise and fall of WCW recently. It wasn't bad but whoever produces this shit should get a bullet in the head. The loud music bed over the entire duration of the special was obnoxious, distracting and made me want to turn it off several times. That and the amount of shit they glossed over or ignored completely. I still watched the whole thing though.

It's the WWE, they'll gloss over anything and everything and pretend stuff never happened....hell they acted like HHH never faced/lost to Undertaker at WM17 during the buildup for WM 27.

Of course. The music was most annoying. It was barely lower than all of the people talking in the interviews. So distracting.

Just watched the HHH/Taker match, and I have to say, I'm really disappointed in it. Their WM17 match was FAR FAR better. This match just felt so slow at times, like literally moving at a snail's pace at some points...it seems like Taker maybe got in 5 or 6 moves total for the whole match?? Really, like two mins in the match, Taker is thrown outside, and pretty much just sells his injuries the rest of the match without much offense. I just really expected and wanted more.

I guess the point of the match was to make the streak look beatable, and by having Taker stretchered off, write him off TV for a while (again) - in fact, we probably won't see Taker again until WM 28 season.

And speaking of WM 28, looks like the main event is set with Rock vs Cena if they hold to it...that match will be HUGE, but that leaves one question, what about Taker? With Cena apparently not wanting to take the Taker match on (which I think is the biggest match WWE has left on their cards), then who will Taker face? It's not like this will be some ordinary match, he will be going for 20-0...not just anyone is suitable for that. Is Wade Barret or CM Punk deserving of that match? I dunno, I'd say no...I really don't know who they have left for Taker outside of Cena, unless they can get Stone Cold to agree to one more match, or get Brock or somebody to come in for one match. Don't know what to expect.

But yeah, Taker/HHH II gets like 6/10 from me.

The most amazing thing to me about CM Punk is that he was an indy darling that actually got to keep every aspect and part of his character. Sure he's grown and evolved since moved up to WWE, but he's continued to just be himself as he always was. He wasn't repackaged or renamed or given a new character. I dont think you can say that about anyone else in WWE in recent/modern times.

Daniel Bryan is another, but they did change his name around.

Pretty boring thus far. 35 min of NXT then 40 MIN or so of Superstars. Smackdown kicked off with a terrible Mark Henry v. Orton match followed by Dibiase losing to someone. Now its Christian v. Mexican sensation. 90 more min to go. Long night.

No one commented on the Punk VS Cena match. I haven't heard a crowd like that since the fucking 90's. Great finish with punk in the crowd. I hope this starts to turn WWE around.

Got the Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels rivalry blu-ray today, can't wait to go home and watch it! Definitely the best wrestling rivalry there ever was I think.

I don't follow Billy Corgan and hadn't heard about it (had to Google it), but call me unimpressed (but that's typical with anything Billy does - Zwan, solo shit, false reunions, etc).

the rumble match was good, but only in a nostaligia kind of way. did they bring back the likes of duggan, roaddog and foley because they dont have enough top people nowadays?

i was pretty pissed that jericho never won either. i am guessing Y2J will still face punk at mania, so who will sheamus face? i cant see sheamus v bryan being WM calibre title match

They can get away with anything this year since they have The Rock vs. Cena.
I only watched the rumble part of the PPV last night and I thought it ended alright. I knew Jericho wouldn't win and the multiple close calls were well done.
