I dig how gigposters.com already had a picture up. Show isn't until the 20th of April.

Andrew Bird is re-releasing some albums and he is having Jay Ryan redo the album covers for them. Can not find it for the life of me, but my point is he has good picks for his art.
Well, jay Ryan already did the Mysterious Production of Eggs cover, so the connection's there. But yes, he has a crazy collection of amazing posters.
I LOVE the Horkey ones

Horkey should replace EMEK as the Coachella poster guy. Im sure he could do something amazing with the grass. There are very few gig posters I consider buying that I wasnt at the show for. The Horkey Mogwai is one of them. Its so wonderful and looks great in person:

Not a Horkey fan. Cool story, I know.

He's hit or miss for me. Some art folks are on his nuts for sure. The ones I've seen in person though are all pretty amazing. Definitely one of those artists that it doesn't translate well in a jpeg.
I'm hopeful of the EMEK poster for Coachella this year. Ive seen a couple of his that have been a return to form (whatever that was) and I really want to love one for the festival one of these years.
am i missing something with the mogwai print?

It's a "heart" shape. Instead of a face. A "heart" shape.
5/25-5/27: MOVEMENT DETROIT
6/6: The Field @ The Independent
6/26: Colin Stetson @ The Chapel
The heart faced owls have popped up in a couple Horkey's. Don't know the story with them. This was a joint effort between Horkey and Jay Ryan, where you can see them again. 18 screens used.:

Is it fitting for Flight of the Conchords to have this epic of a poster?

Horkey is so damn otherworldly brilliant.
"All of you coachella 'regulars' have nasty boy pussies and itchy dick4's on your asses.
Why don't you all make like a tree and get chopped down and die. You all have been dreadfully mean to me.
I Hate you. All of you. None of you will ever get to see a womans chest meat or finger blast hott cougies like me.
Fuck you all. Consider this my resignation.
Fair the well, you elitest scumbags."
— Faxman75, who has clearly had enough
I only have one, but it was one of the best shows I've been to:

We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.
pretty sure you can't remote link from gigposters, but that one is nice.

I like that bumblebee print. Andrew Bird really has some great posters.
Here's the one for his Portland show:

No, i mean you literally can't remote link from gigposters, they have a setting that makes it so the images don't work.

Yeah, you need the cookie from the page visit on their site to see the image. It'll look correct to you when you post it on here but nothing to everyone else. EB is also pretty weird with their images.
I just picked up an AP of this print from Phantom City Creative. They've been putting out some seriously awesome prints lately if you all have not heard of them. It's so elegant, I can't wait to have it in the house. Printed with metallic inks:

That is really awesome. I need to get some art, the walls are still too bare in my apt. Where are some good places to order prints online? I'm sure they're in the thread somewhere, but anybody have a recommendation?
5/12 - Acid Mothers Temple - Casbah
5/13 OoOoOo - Soda Bar
5/19 Black Angels / Hanni El Khatib - Belly Up
5/29 Junip - Troubadour
5/30 John Talabot - Echoplex
6/2 Bjork - Hollywood Palladium
It just really depends if you want to buy them the first go from the band/artist/distributor or if you want to look for things that have already sold out on the secondary market.
1st market - concert merch tables, band websites, artist website, distributors (Mondo, Sideshow Collectibles, red bird for LA area stuff)
2nd market - expresso beans, gigposters, ebay. anything like that. prices fluctuate pretty drastically.
There are good poster blogs to keep up with all of it. I personally only buy first hand, as it can get pretty pricey buying after things have been sold out and are extremely sought after. http://insidetherockposterframe.blogspot.com/ http://omgposters.com/ http://www.posterocalypse.com/ And then get on the newsletters for artists you like. Most of the operate that way or twitter and facebook. See what they have coming up and see if they maybe have something hanging around in their store you're into.
Its always strange what is an instant sell out and what is easily bought These are some I know that have good pieces sitting around. http://thebirdmachine.com/store.php http://phantomcitycreative.bigcartel.com/ http://www.nateduval.com/store/art%20prints
You'll get an idea of prices and things. Anything that had to be licensed, has a smaller run, is a more complicated printing or even just the artist's signature is often more expensive. Some artists/bands get pretty ridiculous with their sell outs and it can be frustrating at first but there's so much great stuff out there its never worth getting bent out of shape.
Both the Black Keys and Shepard Fairey make a return for night 2 at MSG. Badass and bold.
