To continue Amyzz list...please note this is NOT a wish list...just potential headliners...
this is a pretty weak god damn list
like, u2? no doubt as headliners?
dude.
REM
U2
and id love to see Massive Attack again, but not headlining.
Upcoming Shows:
Pitchfork Festival: 7/19 @ Union Park
Mountain Oasis Festival: 10/25-27
Coachella: 4/11-13 @ Empire Polo Fields
Ahem....
pay attention Randall and stop being such a cum guzzling gutter slut...
kthxbye
I'd love it if Massive Attack played, but they couldn't headline.
I've still never seen massive attack. not 100% sure fi their NA appeal is still strong enough to headline, but they'd have a hell of a crowd. I think they're one of those acts that wouldn't necessarily influence people to travel to coachella to see them, but who would still be a major buzz item among the music nerds in attendance, which at coachella is a large part of the audience.
Massive Attack would be a HUGE reason for me to go. Although I've gone to every Coachella since 2004 and will probably keep going unless
a) I'm really really broke
b) Coachella doesn't happen
or
c) All the bands suck
yeah, me too. I had tickets to see them at vfest toronto the year they dropped off the bill. I'm just saying that unfortunately, I think their north american appeal is waning a little. not saying it's right :P
I voted for the three I've never seen.
At this point though, I just want April 17th to be here NOW!!!!
Wait, so have they confirmed Talking Heads yet??!?!
Massive Attack would be awesome. They'd make me happier than Portishead did last year.
Muse, U2, Foo Fighters, and Pearl Jam I am absolutely completely indifferent about.
Sorry double post.
Ditto on U2 and the Foo Fighters, and I wouldn't be too excited about Muse or Pearl Jam either, although I would see them unless someone better was on the Outdoor Stage.
Massive Attack can headline in a year when two other bigger acts are headlining, and I would definitely watch them again - my favorite in 2006, tied with Tool (didn't go Saturday). MA are probably a step below Bjork in terms of fame and draw, which might not be good for business, but throw in a co-headliner a la Kraftwerk, problem solved. Or maybe not, because they got Prince.
Ron Paul 2012!
Upcoming Shows:
Four Tet
Coachella 4/20-4/22
Death Cab for Cutie/Magik Magik Orchestra
Radiohead
some other bands
I am probably the only one on this board that has actually been to a festival where Massive Attack has headlined (fuji rock 03). Their set up for their 2003 was Infuckingcredible...I have yet to see anything like it. Outside of the fact that everything was written in Japanese and gave it an even greater effect, it was fucking nuts. They never toured that particular set outside of Europe and Japan because it would have bankrupted them if they toured in America. When I saw them in 06 at Coachella and Las Vegas, I was actually slightly disappointed because they didn't even to match the set up they used in the 2003 tour. If they headline and are given enough time to set things up and given enough $$$ to do so, they will fucking melt faces....
I would hate any of these as headliners
defintley need Neil Young
For years Neil Young has been VERY high on my wish list of people I have never seen.
