Default Daytime Psytrance party on Sat Oct 4th

    ..::LOS ANGELES DECOMPRESSION ::…

    Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 12:00pm

    Los Angeles State Historical Park

    1245 N. Spring Street, 90012

    Los Angeles, CA

The 6th Annual LA Decompression Music & Arts Festival
A fundraiser for Burners Without Borders www.burnerswithoutborders.org
(from the Home Page of la-burningman.org)

Time is fast approaching for the annual Los Angeles Decompression party!

We have had more submissions for Art, Camps, Installations, stages, and performers than EVER BEFORE!. You guys rock!

Before we get to the list everyone is dying to see, a few things.

First, the event will be held in a BRAND NEW location this year. No more partying on the streets, now we have acres of beautiful lawn all with the amazing view of downtown we have always had.

We are very grateful to the State Park Rangers for allowing us to use their wonderful location. When you see them around, tell them thanks! They have been truly great to work with.

Time: The festivities will start at Noon and end at Midnight.

Cost: Entrance to the event is

$10 in costume or with a Metro Rail pass!

    $20 in street clothes.

    (Children under 12 are FREE!)

There will be alcohol available on site this year (woo!) as well as food vendors. You are welcome to bring your own food, but we can not allow alcohol in the park outside of the approved areas, so please do not bring it. We are being asked to check for alcohol and weapons as you enter. Please be prepared for this at the gate so we can keep the line moving.

    Parking:

On Site and Secure Parking available at the North end of the park off Baker for $10, so please CARPOOL. Or ride the Metro Rail to the China Town exit and enter at the South end of the park off Spring St.

VOLUNTEER! We need you! Email volunteers@la-burningman.orgThis e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and participate! Have time Friday, the day of the event or Sunday? Let us know!

We are a No Glow Stick event. In keeping with our green initiatives, we ask that you leave the glow sticks at home. They only fill up our landfills with materials that never decompose. Instead, bring reusable lights, like LEDs or EL Wire.

For the first time we will have a chapel. You too can get married at Decompression! Whether for real or just to your playa partner, you can make the moment last a lifetime.

We are pleased to present the following acts, art, camps, cars and more!!!!!

So this was a ton of fun last night. It was a very old school style rave in a huge field next to Chinatown. I think there were 5 stages with great music with tons and tons of room to stretch out and relax. The crowd skewered older, I'd say most were over 25 and early 30s was the the majority. There were no glowsticks, no e-puddles, no 14 year old kids running around but did have lots of people in creative costumes and a great vibe. More parties should aspire to be like this. The only problem was the midnight shutdown.

Not while I was there but I didn't get there til 6ish. That would have seemed a bit odd though if they played considering they weren't on the flyer and didn't fit in music wise.
