Meh. Looks like a mess to me. Glad you're enjoying it, though. When was the last time Jaxx toured the US with a full band? (not orchestra)

I enjoy it for what it is. I think I'd rather have at the least a small strings section when they do their regular live show (they had a 3 piece horn section in 06/07, but then reduced it to one horn player for 09).

The last time they were here was in 09 for that DJ set mini tour, but as far as full live show, i think it was 07 at Detour Fest.

I believe it was in 2004 or 5. The last time I remember them with a band was the year they played Coachella and then they were supposed to be on the lineup for Lollapalooza the following year but it got canceled after a few cities. Not sure if they even were on that leg of the tour.

On July 11th, there will be an album release of the Jaxx/Metropole Orkest collaboration.
The album will be a combination of live performances and studio recordings of the arrangements.

Based on the 3 sample songs they have online, they may or may not have the Jaxx vocalists on it (like in the live shows).

Basement Jaxx or Jaxx where have you been. I took a break after the last album to dig up some new tunes and today I see you've also(chems/daft recently, we all know this) done a score for a film (Attack the Block) which was released on May 13th UK only and a limited release for good ol' U-S-OF-A on July 29th.



Thick,Emotional,Wonderful use of synth. If this is the direction the jaxx are pushing their tunes for future albums cant wait to see whats coming our way.

No lie, there's a part of me that would rather have Basement Jaxx and Underworld to Daft Punk. Obviously DP is great, but I feel like with Basement Jaxx and Underworld I'd be able to just go and enjoy the show without the packed in crowds of cretins holding their iPhones up and going all "WOOOOO DAFT PUNK" or whatever it is people say.
