Eating a bean-cheese burrito and drinking a watermelon agua fresca from La Taquiza on Fig right now.
Whiskey Sour
2 oz blended whiskey
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 cherry
1/2 slice lemon
Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.
Mr. Bastard, you sir, have great culinary taste reppin La Taquiza.
I wish I didn't live up here in the valley. I map every single one of these places with the intent on going immediately, see that it will take 3 freeways, and say fuck it.
Oh my god, I just went to Choza Mama in Burbank, right across from NBC studios. It's Peruvian food and it's damn excellent, though very heavy
Amazing. #5 wrap Chicken Sautéed with Onions, Tomatoes, Rice, Potatoes, Lettuce, Cheese, Beans, Salsa Criolla)
might have to be the greatest "burrito" (puervians don't have burritos so they call it a wrap, but it's basically a burrito) I've ever had. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the sauces were the shit
Then I will hold you down and spit her percolations all over you until you're as greasy as the day she regrets pushing your big fat ass out her big fat cunt.
they do indeed. I haven't had it here yet, but I can't imagine the food at Choza Mama being bad
here's the menu if you are interested

The place I actully miss most from growing up in Calif. is Shakey's Pizza.
I know it is a chain....but damn I miss the chicken, mojos & pizza.
and the buffet? that was always great and still enjoy it sometimes in Newport. Thats the only shakey's i know of
OK I am taking notes of all this since I will be in the LA area in a month. Any hints on the best place to get Sushi in LA?
depends on how much you want to drop!
It is a vacation so that doesn't really matter. Although I do want to get another tattoo while I am there so I am going to say... ummm midlevel to high but not anything too extreme. I prefer little hole in the wall authentic places to overpriced tourist attractions though.
I'm going to get some ink done too...
Not necessarily true on the Sushi tip. There are nigiri shops in which you wouldn't think they'd be. Agreed that hole-in-the-wall usually denotes Mexican food and the like, but there are instances where it can work for sushi.
If I were to get SC it would have to be part of a montage. Something blended so it wouldn't be standing out as a nutjob ink job. Like, for instance, a collection of ink done remarking everything California/L.A. So, if I moved away it would remind me I can always go home again lol.
Actually when you go to a trendy sushi joint and the guy rolling your sushi is mexican that is not really "authentic". When you go to a mom and pop hole in the wall sushi joint like Kan Pai out here and its a Japanese family that barely speaks English, that is much better.
The final piece I want done is going to cost in the neighborhood of 3 grand. It is still in the planning phase...lol.
