    Default Go see The Raconteurs

Blistering show last night to start this leg of the tour. Beg or borrow the $ to catch a show.

I'm useless at remembering setlists but I recall one song I have never heard. Lyrics included the words "coca cola". B side ? Jack took lead vocals.

They teased out some of the songs a little too and segued one right into the next.

Kind of a cover, he switches up the lyrics almost on a nightly basis from what I understand. It's called Keep it Clean or the Coca Cola song.

    One version

I went to the river, couldn't get across
I jumped on your papa ’cause I thought he was a horse, now
Roll him over, give him a Coca-Cola
Lemon soda, saucer of ice cream
Takes soap and water for to keep it clean.

Up she jumped, down she fell
Her mouth flew open like a mussel shell, now

Roll him over, give him a Coca-Cola
Lemon soda, saucer of ice cream
Takes soap and water for to keep it clean.

Your sister was a tabby, your daddy was a bear
Put a muzzle on your mama ’cause she had bad hair, now

Roll him over, give a Coca-Cola
Lemon soda, saucer of ice cream
Takes soap and water for to keep it clean.

If you want to go to heaven when you D-I-E
You got to put on your collar and your T-I-E, now

Roll him over, give him a Coca-Cola
Lemon soda, saucer of ice cream
Takes soap and water for to keep it clean.

Run here doctor, run here fast
See what's the matter with his yas-yas-yas, now

Roll him over, give him a Coca-Cola
Lemon soda, saucer of ice cream
Takes soap and water for to keep it clean.

All this Raconteurs hoopla is just delaying the return of BB's far better solo output. Get a move on, old chap.

I didn't see them because they were playing against the "never ever play America" acts known as Goldfrapp and Aphex Twin at Coachella. Didn't get one of the 20 tickets actually released to the public for their Henry Fonda show. Tried to get one of those 10.67 tickets yesterday for next Tuesday's show, but the lazy fucks didn't put up the offer at 10am like promised and after 10 minutes of reloading, I gave up. Came back an hour later and it was up, but no seats were left but nosebleeds, and at The Greek you can't hear anything in section C half the time, so why bother. Seems I gotta work that night, anyway.

I saw Goldfrapp in April at the Warfield and am seeing her again this weekend at Treasure Island Festival, but yea, I would have chose them over The Raconteurs in a heart beat.

Ditto. Coachella and Bonnaroo. I thought they were stellar @ Coachella but man oh man they fucking killed at Bonnaroo. Sucks they skipped Florida completely. and that "Keep It Clean" song was so much fun at Bonnaroo. JW is just amazing

Consolers of the Lonely is one of the best albums of the year. I love how they always open with the title track and end with "Carolina Drama"

I would've given my left nut to hear "These Stones will Shout" but they only played it a couple times. I'm hoping wit hall my heart, for their next tour it's incorporated more into the setlists

i'm guessing all the $10.67 were crap seats to begin with, you probably didn't miss out on much.

No. Consolers of the Lonely definitely grew on me over time, but Broken Boys Soldiers is still way better in my opinion. Can't wait to check them out next week.

Dude thats awesome. The raconteurs have some awesome posters.

For the record; COTL is a sick album. BBS is very good and i love all the tracks (especially "Intimate Secretary") but COTL is up there for 2008 albums.

I wouldn't say miles sbess, but I agree Consolers at least to me is a better album. The big thing for me is that the songs from consolers of the lonely sound so great live. I think people should go back and listen to this CD again.

    I Intimate Secretary!

ok, maybe not miles better, but COTL feels much more like a fully fleshed album instead of 10 songs on a cd like BBS.

Dudes, cmon, the title track, solute your solution, top yourself, carolina fucking drama, rich kid blues, these stones will shout (loooove that one)
