Shrug.
I have a macbook, and a mac mini at home. At work, I write software for windows based operating systems. Every computer and operating system has its flaws. Vista its a minor positive step forward for Microsoft. I think operating systems are becoming less significant, and the majority of our use of computers happens on the web.
That said, i couldn't live without garage band.
well i like using garage band but live is so much better

Vista does stink of mac os but mac os stinks of linux...computers are just a big cycle of things that copy each other. I used to hate apples, but now i think i hate all computers equally...
It's what you produce with the tools used that matters, everything else is a marketing ploy and bullshit your fed in order to validate your expensive glossed over purchase.
Besides, how much 'different' can one think when you constantly tout superiority then switch to your competitions processors? ...lol, give it a rest sn'apple.
Apple warns iPod users against Vista

IPods could be damaged by Microsoft’s new computer operating system, the company behind the popular digital music players has warned.
Apple, the long-standing rival of Bill Gates’s Microsoft, is urging users not to upgrade their PCs to the Vista system until it comes up with a compatible version of the software that runs iPods.
Microsoft launched its long-awaited Vista operating system in a blaze of publicity last week and claimed that more than 5,000 hardware and software products would work with it.
But Apple, which has sold 90 million iPods since 2001, says many users of the iconic portable music players have had problems when connecting them to PCs using Vista.
It claims some have found that songs bought on its iTunes Store will not play on the new system, and that other Vista users have even seen their iPods corrupted when they try to unplug them. The contacts and calendar functions on iPods are also said to be affected.
A statement on Apple’s website reads: “iTunes Store purchases may not play when upgrading to Windows Vista from Windows 2000 or XP.
“Ejecting an iPod from the Windows System Tray using the Safely Remove Hardware feature may corrupt your iPod.”
Microsoft has already released a software update for Vista users so they can play their iTunes Store songs.
But Apple is still warning PC users not to use Vista until it can release a completely new version of the iTunes software.
Apple’s website states: “Apple recommends that customers wait to upgrade Windows until after the next release of iTunes which will be available in the next few weeks.”
Microsoft said it has a dedicated team working on problems with Vista and iTunes, and insisted users should not stop using the new operating system.
hahahahahahah "Macs"
That's hilarious.
macs suck
Oh, Erik.
I can't seem to figure out how to change the MTU, so my internet doesn't work properly, therefore vista doesn't work properly.
I also did a job today, had someone say after they read some article that they aren't going near vista. I'd be a bit scared when the common user thinks your billion dollar OS sucks cause of an article.
I wonder if dell will still offer XP while vista is out for people that think it blows...
While I was in India this trip I saw the building where the Dell customer service people work. If you call Dell customer service be sure and ask how things are in Gurgaon (gurr-GOWN) and if there are any cows out wandering on Golf Course Rd.
I sell hardware/software/services for a living, and not ONE of my customers is even remotely interested in switching yet. They will all wait until the manufacturers force them to the new o/s.
Krunchy, to answer your question, I think DELL, as well as others, will offer XP for as long as they can. According to reports, there will NOT be a "double" boot, like there was on the switch from 2000 to XP. MS has put a lot of $$ into Vista, and they want everybody and their grandmother to use it.
And, for all you "MACS Suck" people...Vista looks a lot like a MAC for a reason...![]()
Vista does suck pretty hard...i've been using macs since they started, best computer ever.
There it is...
I'm losing my edge...
Exactly how is Vista an OSX ripoff? Now that I've been forced to us and fix Macs regularly I can see the argument for them (although I've also found a lot of complaints), but I absolutely don't understand the comment that Vista bit anything off OSX.
I've yet to use Vista for longer than 20 minutes and it seemed alright. But trying to burn a simple data DVD on a Mac was an exercise in futility. Oh and when I got the DVD's home the windows machine lets me look at the data but wont let me do anything with it. Macs fucking suck balls.
Linux ftw
Yeah no worries. It's not worth going back and forth over at this point. There's nothing you probably could tell me I couldnt figure out on google or by trial and error.
