I'm surprised the Gorillaz are billed so low.

Coachella should grab them because Australia doesn't really count to us.

...Is Mark Ronson headlining over all of those bands?

Good god, the amount of cock he must have sucked to get billed so high... It'd make Salah jealous.
    Upcoming Shows:
    * The Flaming Lips perform The Soft Bulletin - Bimbo's 365 in SF on February 21st
    * Jeff Mangum - Fox Theater in Oakland on April 10th

Five Years of Coachella Glory: 2007 - 2011 (skipping 2012, maybe I'll be back in '13?)

Mark ronson kicks some serious ass live, but he is billed too high. It might just have been thrown out that way though.

I thought the gorillaz presence was odd... then I found out it's Gorillaz Sound System. from wikipedia:

Apparently, a group called "Gorillaz Sound System" is an audio-visual party band. The first known time they played was during an MTV Send Off Party at the Bloomsbury Ballroom in London, UK on October 23rd, 2007. The story on MTV.co.uk said:
“ Our favourite MTV presenter Emma Griffith will be hosting the knees up with several DJs and live bands, including a performance from the multi-million selling Gorillaz and their DJ Sound System – but the best thing is you and your mates can be there too!”

Their second known performance will be at the UK musical festival Creamfields on August 23rd and 24th of August, 2008. This is the review of what they will do according to the official Creamfields website:
“Emerging from the cartoon underworld into the dazzling hills of Creamfields, Gorillaz Sound System have just confirmed they will be performing at this years event. Unleashing their wild beats in the stunning Cheshire valley accompanied by a spectacular visuals and lights show – a unique exhibit to wish Creamfields an incredible 10th anniversary! The phenomenal Gorillaz Sound System is the world’s premier audio-visual party experience! The eye-popping 360-degree Gorillaz visuals delivered from 20 old school projectors accompany 4 DJs in Gorillaz Sound System gear that will be delivering the biggest roof raising tracks with a one-of-a-kind spectacular.
I'm quite curious. curious, not excited.

edit: I would like to witness this though. I'm not sure how the 360-degree visuals would work at coachella. here's hoping for some kind of stateside appearance though. I wonder who is doing the dj-ing.

On the official website Kraftwerk is first and Mark Ronson and the version players are second. I have no idea who the version players are.

It's cool how it's visiting Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane...

That lineup is pretty damn good. Good to see The Orb making an appearance. Anyone know if its a live set or a DJ set?

and I wonder if Florian will be showing up with the rest of Kraftwerk now.

I think I'm more interested in Gorillaz Sound System than plain Gorillaz. I love that band, but he already kinda put it to rest. for the time being at least. a new project is much more enticing.
