As you can see on the Request page http://decemberists.com/byrequest/ , we've employed a highly scientific polling mechanism to solicit your favorite songs. Vote for as many songs as you like from the repertoire - we'll take the results and come up with a semi-coherent order based on what you choose. Even if you do not have tickets to the show, you can still experience the exhilarating sense of control that comes with punching your digital chad. The request period closes Monday night at the stroke of 12 ET.
One setlist without anything off the Hazards of Lame, please. That'd be my request.

Why come listening to Kurt Cobain solo acoustic songs is like listening to a dead friends voice on tape?

Even though some jackass will probably start a thread about this, I am going to try to do the right thing since this is definitely not thread-worthy:

Red Hot Chili Peppers Reuniting In October

With another Chickenfoot tour and the first release of his instrumental side band Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats looming, the drummer has October circled on his calendar for the Red Hot Chili Peppers' return to active duty.

"That's the plan," Smith tells Billboard.com, noting that what was announced as a one-year break turned into two for the quartet after touring to support 2005's "Stadium Arcadium." "Everybody was like, 'Y'know, I really like having this time off, not being a Chili Pepper and doing other things...It'll be two years in September, so now we're ready. You can't force people to play when they don't want to play or aren't ready to play or whatever -- not in our band, anyway."

Just watched an interview with Jack White with the Dead Weather.

    He is

    a) Considerably more personable than I expected

    and

    b) Somewhat tellingly, an unlimited mine of jokes about drummers

So you don't like the only worthwhile thing that annoying fucking band will ever do? And you preferred The Kooks over Grizzly Bear? Are you on the correct side of any music conversation, Fro?

Oh, Eminem needs to get out of my life. He became a parody of himself a long long time ago.

Preferred seeing them at one point of my life, to be correct. Given the choice between Grizzly Bear circa 2009 vs. the Kooks circa 2009 (especially after the really bad 2nd record) and my votes with Grizzly Bear, but 2 years ago I made the right choice.

Forgive me if I don't find a self-indulgent dirge of really badly tied together themes and plot with a confusing-as-all-fuck narrative combined with what, to my ears, sounds like the worst folk-inspired impression of the Mars Volta, to be good in the least. Hazards of Love may not be the worst thing the Decemberists have done or will do, but it doesn't warrant a SECOND exclusive tour of the album, and if I were going to the one show where they are actually playing songs that arent on that piece of shit, I would sure as hell like to hear a non-HOL or something resembling a normal Decemberists set-list.

Stick that in your pipe and smoke it, Tommy.

Grizzly Bear is still the correct answer when discussing Grizzly Bear circa 2007 vs The Kooks circa 2007.

Also, I get why someone wouldn't like The Hazards of Love. But compared to their previous work, it's fucking amazing.

You're treading terrible taste waters. How is it? Taste like urine? I'm pretty sure I'd rather tread that than listening to Grizzly Bear live again.

There has never been a time when seeing The Kooks has been the right choice. Even the empty stages would have provided better entertainment.

The only Decemberists talk we get on this board and the person defending Hazards of Love is a Tool fan; while the person in favor of their more poppish work is proud of seeing the Kooks in 2007.

Heard the new Alice in Chains song on the radio today, I actually think it's pretty good.

Oh, and TV on the Radio's DLZ is pretty much the best song ever.

i got a hold of pretty much all of Bjork's pre-Volta singles about 7 or 8 months ago and continue to find many hidden gems among the insane amount of remixes to be found.
