Out of all those Noise and Hardcore bands that were signed to Touch And Go, I think Scratch Acid is my favorite.

They are noise rock royalty, for sure. "Cannibal" may be a top 10 song for me.

Also, I was reading the first page of this thread... And a lot of people were talking shit on how this wouldn't work. Funny because it's probably my favorite thread on the board. Lots of random tidbits/discussions concerning great stuff.

    Six Degrees of Black Sabbath

I have run it plenty of times but never gone through Black Sabbath.

Also I didn't know about Last.fm's Playground. Some of it is VIP (?) only but there are some cool tools such as the Scrobbling Timeline and Gender Plot.

What's the largest amount of steps you've had between artists? My first one was from Fats Domino to At the Gates: 11 steps.

12 steps from Burzum to Chubby Checker, and one of those steps is Fat Boys.

Nashville Pussy to the Prayer Chain is 29 steps. That's near the most they've seen of 35!

I keep seeing Steve McDonald from Redd Kross.

Also I tend to get rid of the connections that are "____ dated _____" because that seems like cheating.

I really like 'Mess', because it's about a hoarder (I think) and I've written a song about a hoarder.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

I really enjoyed listening to The Clits' "Excuse me" EP and it's nothing mind blowing but it has a strong base line. They are on spotify if you want to give it a listen.

Leonard Cohen’s first public musical performance

I'm just started this but thought it was worth sharing.

edit: I think it may just be a spoken word/reading poetry out aloud

To do this, I looked at the music listening behavior of a quarter million online music listeners from a wide range of music services powered by music intelligence company The Echo Nest (my employer). First, I created a chart of the top artists in the entire country, and another of the top artists in each state. Then, I went through the chart for each state to find artists that have the biggest bump in their rank on the state chart, when compared to the national chart. These are the most "distinctive" artists for that state -- the ones that people there like way more than people in other states do.
