I like all of her albums from front to back with minor exceptions. She is incredible. Finally getting to see her live last year was really special too.

    jealous.

I listened to that album because of this forum tho. "The Thread Where You Suggest an Album" specifically.

    Listen to Vespertine

every one of her albums is so good

I love Bjork like crazy, but to me her eccentric nature and willingness to fail is part of what makes her so interesting and good. I found Biophilia frequently flat and underwhelming, Volta was spotty and that soundtrack she did, Drawing Restraint No. 9 or whatever, was just no good. And, it doesn't count in the discussion of her career the way we think of it, but her first album is a kid singing jazzy pop tunes, and it's every bit as bizarre and hard to listen to as that sounds.

But on the flip side, the first Sugarcubes album is spectacular.

Awesome. My friend went to one of the shows on that tour and she said it was life-changing.

Andd I just finished another listen..

I really don't know why I haven't really listened to her before. I think I had this skewed conception that her music would be "boring". Which is so fucking dumb now that I'm hearing her beauty, and I'm kicking myself for it. Cool. At this rate I'll have listened to her discography by the end of the week.

The first time I put it on front to back was in the middle of nowhere in Utah, pitch black, per bmack's recommendation a few years ago. Won't ever forget that drive.

Homogenic is impeccably mixed for headphones as well. I had a box set with 5.1 dvd mixes of her albums from Debut through Volta, and that was really, really awesome to experience as well.

It was because of Bjork that I discovered Coachella in '02. Saw her doing Vespertine and other awesome songs 5 mos pregnant with a small orchestra. Totally amazing. I've seen her 3 times since, but super bummed I never got to any of the residences tour in 2012/13.
Vespertine is still by far my favorite, but I have to agree that Homogenic is super heady and fabulous for headphones or a night drive (we did on our way down to Indio back then!) - the sound is just sooooo different when it surrounds you. Volta 5.1 was fun to experience in a soundbooth. Try it if you get the chance.
Biophilia is still growing on me though.

I've never been able to get into Bjork. I listened to Post and liked a few songs, but it didn't make me want to listen to her other albums.

Having said that, I saw her at Pitchfork Fest last year and she really impressed me - her voice was a powerhouse.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

I didn't see that discussion until just now. I'd also like to endorse Disraeli Gears by Cream, as well as the two Rufus Wainwright albums. Don't ask me for songs, though, as I'm feeling lazy right now.

Actually, I'll give you one Wainwright song that I liked that stuck out to me. It's called "Go or Go Ahead" off of Want One.

Damn, that sounds awesome. Her 2002 performance of All Is Full Of Love is my favorite off the Coachella DVD. Will seek out those 5.1 versions.

    Fuck No:
o Meat Loaf – Bat Out of Hell - "Bat Out of Hell", "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth" - OK, I get that this may not be the thing for you. Classic rock, progressive rock with some Broadway thrown in there. Ridiculous and amazing.
o Hole – Live Through This - "Violet", "Gutless". Bryan is right, this should be up your alley.
There are a bunch more albums on your lists that I like/love but can't adequately defend.

I probably had close to a hundred Bjork live performance bootlegs on my old iPod. I saw that Beats has a playlist of her live performances, but it didn’t include some of my favorites. I really like that she rearranges the music for her concerts so much sometimes that she could release them as a separate album.

I have two lists, one of things I'm skeptical of but maybe there's some value there, and another of shit I've made my mind up on already and just don't care about. I'm mostly looking for people to make the case for any of the albums on the first list (or if they suggested the wrong album by an otherwise decent act), but if there's something that you really want to try to change my mind on off the second list (excluding Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Pink Floyd and Oasis, I already know there's supporters here and I'm just not that interested), go for it.

    Maybe?:
    o Travis – Man Who
o Crosby, Stills & Nash – Crosby, Stills & Nash
o Still, Stephen – Stephen Stills (1st Album)
o Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young – Déjà vu
o ZZ Top – Tres Hombres
    o Boston – Boston (1st Album)
    o ZZ Top – Eliminator
    o Waterboys – Fisherman’s Blues
o Jamiroquai – Emergency on Planet Earth
o Pet Shop Boys – Very
o Fun Lovin’ Criminals – Come Find Yourself
o Williams, Robbie – I've Been Expecting You
All of these I own and love. I replaced the listed Robbie Williams album with I've Been Expecting You. I included it for Millennium and No Regrets alone. Getting Neil Hannon and Neil Tennant to sing backup was a damn good move.

The two ZZ Top albums are very different, Eliminator has a very 80's sound but damn those tunes are seared into my mind now. Tres Hombres is dirty old school ZZ Top. Grab Deguello while you're at it. Even better and it just rips on vinyl.

Both CSN(Y) albums are worthy, Deja Vu is essential. The way those voices play off each together and come together is amazing. Some great guitar licks on this too from Stills.

Fisherman's Blues is a masterpiece imo but I can see why some people wouldn't get it. Ever. It needs to be listened to in whole. Lots of introspection on that album.
