Are you guys just going because it's Metallica? Dont get me wrong, I love all of their albums, even St. Anger because it was the first one that I began listening to. (Unfortunately) Now obviously, anything before the Loaded Album is an instant favorite of mine, and I'm kind of lookin forward to the new shit.
But c'mon, it's METALLICA. they suck live. I saw them in 03 with the summer sanitarium tour thingy, it was a descent show, but there was like 75,000 people there and we were like a mile a way from stage.
Then i saw them opening up for the Stones a few years ago in San Fran and they sucked, and i've seen them at the Bridge School Benefit and it sucked then too.
If i get free tickets Ill go but I'm not sure if it's worth the money-maybe seeing them on their own headlining tour and not a festival type thing it will be diff?

I'm thinking about going to the October 23rd show here in Albuquerque. I really enjoyed their set at Bonnaroo. That was mostly because they played 1 song post-1991. "One" and "Fade To Black" were the highlights. I'm wondering if I got that great setlist just because it was a huge music festival. Also, The Sword is probably my favorite metal band. That might tilt it in favor of me going. Good call with the shitty venues comment, Tingley is really horrible.

most initial tour dates keep slots open for possible add-ons. i think they will do a second leg sfchrissy and then do sacramento and san jose..

the metallica/rage show is dead... it was a proposal but they decided to do some u.k shows before they go all out in the u.s.

im planning on going to oakland for sure. maybe fresno and maybe the tour opener since my brothers lives in phoenix!
