I get it, but it would have been cooler if one of them had crashed.![]()
The first one was excruciating, waiting for the inevitable.
I wish I could find the still picture of him right as the kid gets in his way. Someone got a picture of it and his face is priceless.
That speed pedaling is impressive...
finally, a thread i can call home.
i love you, Gary. my poor old beaten down little mountain bike is gonna crash any next time i trek across town. good thing i'm building a cyclotouring mobile out of an old schwinn frame my friend doesn't use anymore. 21 speeds of doom for our next Eugene > Southern California ride.
<33
Our friends just got one of these and although I kind of understand the novelty, I still don't quite get it.

damn you, i was having a good day until now, haha! my wife just lost her big dog a year and a half ago that she had had for 15 years, happened while we were out at the stagecoach festival in the desert, which really sucked, especially because her mom was being such a bitch about it. we knew it was coming, though, just sad we couldn't be there. the best part was her dog shit all over her mom's house before passing on, a nice "fuck you", haha!
i also lost my childhood dog years ago while i was out of town, in vegas. my mom was nice enough to wait until i was on my way home to break the news, instead of ruining my whole weekend, like above.
my wife worked in vet med for around 10 years and dealt with this stuff all the time, so hard to see day in and day out. a friend of hers actually started a mobile vet business so she could go to people's homes to put the pets down, making it a much more relaxing environment for animal and family.
It's a well done little piece. I still cry after having watched it at least 5 times.
Izzy got her first bicycle.
This is her first skid mark.

We're gonna hit the trails later today, but I'm not looking forward to having to clean our bikes. Maybe it won't be that bad.
Ben and I went up to Nobel canyon yesterday
Loads of fun hit a little snow at the top

buying this in a few weeks if nothing better comes up. steal of a deal, and i've had to abandon my frankenbike building project, due to incorrect frame size and outdated parts. probably gonna get a new set of bullhorn handlebars for it. maybe mod the back tire to a dual single-speed conversion rather than keep the fixie option (not my thing).
:]
Is this in Carmel Valley off the 56? If so I love this trail.
it's San clemente canyon off of the 52, close

Thankfully, this Illinois winter is beginning to show signs that it's moving on. The Surly's been out a couple times this year in spite of the elements. I can't wait 'til summer.
saw this while driving dillon rd. and thought of this thread
"conversation is a game of circles and i'm getting dizzy-- bye"
The trails are beautiful right now. Wildflowers galore, unfortunately there is also tons of poison oak. I HATE poison oak.
we were off in western Massachusetts this weekend and I came across a couple of bikes that are surly missing there riders

commuter bike, anyone?
hello message board. would any of you lovely, knowledgeable bicyclists out there be willing to lend some advice? i have been planning to buy a bicycle for a while now, and since i just got my tax refund i think it's almost time. trouble is, i know next to nothing about selecting a bike, and i would appreciate some help in narrowing down my search. i have been doing some research on my own, but it's so much quicker to pick the brain of someone who knows their stuff.
i can tell you the following:
- 1. i am looking for a bicycle to ride to work and back each day, a distance of about 7 miles each way, for the primary purpose of staying fit and for the secondary purpose of driving less / perhaps eventually phasing out my car.
- 2. i would like to spend around $400-500, if i can get something decent. if not, i am willing to reconsider my limit.
- 3. i'm not gonna lie, i want something that looks cool. i'm into super clean, plain, minimal, black, not a bunch of logos and crazy colors and all that business.
- 4. comfort is key
any help would be greatly appreciated

This will be my first year that I'll be able to ride a bike to and from Coachella. Yay! No traffic or parking lots. Anyone else riding a bike to Coachella?
There it is...
I'm losing my edge...
