Yeah it does suck but they are ageing legends. They've had a phenomenal career. Others haven't been so fortunate. Look on the bright side.

Having a phenomenal career doesn't really take the sting out of losing thousands and thousands of dollars of equipment that probably has memories attached to it, in addition to musical value.

Read about this last night and my heart dropped, especially for mike considering the history that gibson EB has been through(its was his very first bass!). Im not a violent person, but if i ever caught somebody trying to rip me off of my gear from my vehicle or home, i would break their kneecaps. You want to piss off a musician, bring up this subject...

Some of these pictures have some of the equipment. If someone tries to sell these to you, beat some ass...well, wouldn' want to encourage you getting in trouble giving a beatin' to someone deserving...call some authority and get them busted...fuckin' thieves.

I think we all have a collective responsibility to print out this list and distribute it to pawn shops and guitar stores.

That's rough. I would have hoped though they would have had better security than just a lock on a truck though. Damn.

shit, that happened right before a show i worked back in '99, "this ain't no picnic" out at oak canyon ranch in irvine. you could tell they were all wrecked hanging out backstage that day.

nuts, looks like 6 years later they got a couple guitars back...

Montreal police have found the truck stolen Monday from American punk icon Iggy Pop and his band the Stooges, but tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment is still missing.
The abandoned truck was found late Tuesday afternoon at the corner of Saint-Marc Street and René Lévesque Boulevard, said police spokeswoman Anie Lemieux.

"All the equipment was missing -- or almost," Lemieux said. "I think there were a few mike stands that stayed in the truck. Investigators are going to look for any elements that can help them try to find possible suspects.

"Are there any fingerprints in the car? Were any elements left on the scene that might help them find possible leads in this case?" Lemieux said investigators are also looking for witnesses....

...Almost immediately after the theft, the band vowed to continue with the North American leg of its tour, including Wednesday's gig in Toronto. CBC-TV accompanied Watt to a Toronto guitar store on Tuesday as he borrowed some replacement instruments.[CBCNews]

Iggy & The Stooges are so fucking awesome. This is a real shame it happened to them. I really hope the person who stole it is found. Great Vegoose pictures by the way Mike. They turned out to be my favorite set of the weekend.
