Good shake just now in Downtown. Epicenter about 15 minutes south in South Gate. 3.4 I think.

That's the second earthquake I've not felt in a row due to being at a rowdy show. First Speedy Ortiz, and now LOOP. I think I'm onto something.

    Felt last night's in Whittier.
My fiancé talks in her sleep & she was dreaming about being at work.
She works for Office Depot, so she kept yelling at me to make sure the stacked printer ink wasn't gonna fall.
Finally I just told her I would save the ink haha.

The other night my daughter called out for her dad in the middle of the night, so we both go to her room and she's sitting up telling us that the Easter bunny really enjoyed going to all the open houses for sale.

Last night's quake was such a short, sudden jolt that i probably would have not even thought it was a quake if it weren't for my girlfriend, who is not a native Californian, being very fascinated by them.

The 5.9 Virginia earthquake was three years and a day ago, a month and a half after I moved to NYC. I only felt that one for 5 seconds, at work in NJ.

I am down in LA and am terribly worried about my cats now. I hope it wasnt as strongly felt down in Palo Alto.

I doubt it. in SF it was noticeable, definitely the largest I have felt in my ~16 years here, but nothing fell over or anything like that. I hear a different story coming from up towards Napa, though.

I haven't been in an earthquake since the 89 quake either. I was up in Tiburon at some fantasy suite with a lady from the bay area. We were in an odd way, happy about the quake because her husband was a local politician from the bay and had to go to work....... Odd times cr****

It woke me up and it took me a bit to realize what was going on. The cats were in their bed on the window seat and they bolted to who knows where. After a few minutes they climbed into our bed and they were laying on or against us until we got up to feed them. I'm sure Volta forgot about it by then and Ritzy is fine now, too.

It ended up as a good reminder to attach everything to the walls. And may not put the giant painting on the wall near the head of our bed.

Oh, yes . . . don't put anything over your headboard unless it is extremely secure. That's California 101.
