There is actually a couple threads dedicated to this but MM is way too big to just be a sunset band

MM at sunset is perfect, but it would depend on the flow of the lineup if they play at night or at sunset.

It may be perfect but like I said they're too big maybe a couple of years ago but not now shit they're headlining some festivals nowadays

If Modest was on the bill, I think they'd be a lock for sunset. No way they're bigger than that. It would be a pretty weak lineup if MM was a headliner or 2nd-billed imo.

We shouldn't compare past sunset bands to current, there are always examples to prove/disprove a point. But, if we are, IMO, they're on similar footing as MMJ, DCFC, Raconteurs...all sunset bands.

YYYs have as much mainstream appeal as MM from what ive seen.
but MM deserves (and recieves) more respect.

I thought Raconteurs were after sunset which if is the case also validates my point. MMJ this year was an exception Roger Waters had a really long set and was ending an hour before the fest but MMJ at sunset was brilliant. DCFC would have also been at night without the late addition of Prince. IMO MM>DCFC, Raconteurs, MMJ(besides this year), and YYY

Sigur Ros. They owe LA for giving us one show and it's during MBV, while NYC gets 4 this year. But anyways...

Feist would be great at sunset on the outdoor, especially if followed by Broken Social Scene.

But can anything top seeing the Pixies and Sigur Ros at sunset?

Sunset really is a magical time. The heat finally starts dying down and you can see the sun setting to the left while the moon rises to the right in that big, clear desert sky. Mmm. Add some epic music and it's orgasmic. If I had to rank the sunset sets I've seen at Coachella:
    Pixies
    Sigur Ros
    Arcade Fire
    Kraftwerk
    Yeah Yeah Yeahs
    Stephen Marley
    Placebo
    Weezer

Feist would be so fucking amazing

I wasn't there for the Pixies but I can imagine but yeah Sigur Ros was easily my favorite sunset slot that I have seen well maybe JAMC topped it

I wish I could've been there for JAMC but I was at the outdoor suffering through the abomination known as Peaches to get up front for Jarvis Cocker.

Yes, Feist would be incredible at Coachella. Hopefully next year is the year. I really want to see her do "Lover's Spit", but I don't know if she does it anymore.

Boourns I understand your love for Jarvis but missing JAMC to get a good spot is crazy but to each his own

Yeah. The thing is I knew Jarvis would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity but JAMC would tour again. They have been to LA twice since Coachella. Jarvis? No LA show since Pulp's 1996 tour.

I guess ScarJo was also once-in-a-lifetime. I had dismissed that rumor as ridiculous.

I had nothing left after baking in the sun during SSPU and Arctic Monkeys, but JAMC seemed pretty good. Arcade Fire was the epitome of a Coachella sunset performance (just accenting all the beautiful aspects of that perfect time of day at Coachella) and MMJ was amazing this year, too. God, I only wish I had been there for Sigur Ros. I'd love another chance to see them do sunset.

I can't believe I walked away from Belle & Sebastian.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

Explosions in the Sky(they are going away for a while, maybe they'll be ready to play by then?) and/or Mogwai(new CD is coming out soon), please. Those would be wonderful at that time. I'm fine with Outdoor Theatre too.
