McCartney would be a waste of a Headlining spot. Put him in for 2010. Not 09.

McCartney is the only thing that could top Prince + Waters.
he was a fucking Beatle. not just any beatle, he wrote Hey Jude.
na-na-na-nas at the polo field would be surreal. the haters would be annoyed by it, making it even more sweeter.

nope. Waters may have a better show going on, but just like Waters, Macca runs a tight shift. all the songs are always executed well. besides, every song Macca does is a hit, so the crowd will go nuts for every song. plus, he's added A Day in the Life to his set- who wouldn't want to see that?!

I like the beatles and A Day In The Life would be sick but I just dont think he would put up a good show. I saw em at the super bowl some years back. I didnt see anything special. Just him on the piano.

Please dont call em Macca. Call him P-Mac or something else.

    macca it is.

he'd give us a good time. his show is more about the fans than himself.
he could do all new work. he could pull a dylan. he could put on pyros for every song not featured on 007.

instead, MACCA, plays the hit tunes, let's us sing along, and adds his charming british humor.

it's a simple show that let's us just unwind and have fun.

You're going to judge his show based on a super bowl halftime performance? Those are like 3-4 songs, right? I saw him at one of the Bridge School Benefits and he was great.

So what? It's not the beatles, it's mccartney.
    Big difference.

I would have to pass on him...and by the way whoever said Paul could top Prince/Waters is completely wrong.

Its gonna be hard for an act to top Prince/Waters. The only who could make a run at it i think would have to be David Bowie.

You guys ARE aware that there's such a thing as current music, right?

Like, new stuff? Written in our time? Not our parents' music? They already had their time with music festivals? Perhaps we should have ours instead of all stepping aside to beckon selections from mom and dad's LP collection to headline Coachella?

    Maybe?
