I dont know what brought on all your misgivings about the greek la but I was there 3 times last summer and each night the sound was spot on. The only qualm you could have is it getting quiet quickly as you get to the side section and B or C, but you'll be set in A or the pit.

Bryan has been going to shows a lot longer than you have, so his experiences there could be hit or miss? You notice most of us that are older avoid the place cause we know better? Sit one show in the back and let me know how it is for you ok?

It's really shitty that a venue has good sound for only a limited amount of tickets. And I hate the stacked parking bullshit. Plus, of the seven shows I've seen there, the sound was fucked up for four of them, with really overdone bass washing out the treble and midrange (surprise, the one band that didn't get screwed by the sound there was the White Stripes.) The fact that the sound is so spotty, combined with the horrible access situation just makes me stay away. Yes, I know you can park in Los Feliz and walk up, but I don't really want to hike a mile uphill to avoid parking fees if I still have to drive anyway. The hike is tolerable for the bowl because you can ride the metro and not worry about drinking and driving, but the Greek doesn't present that option. And some of their facilities are pretty run down (the bathroom at B section was so gross last time I was there.)

Basically, fuck the Greek. I've resigned to missing just about anyone I'd want to see who is playing there.

Dude I've sat in the back quiet a few time when I won free tickets from the scenestar or similar. When I think about it Atmosphere was actually very loud last August but they likely didnt obey the sound ordinance limitations.

This discussion has come up before among all of us. At least 3 times since I've been on here regularly. I've noticed. It's not questioning anyone's "experience", it was an action of discussing RECENT experiences there if they have perhaps changed since Bryan (or anyone) has given up on the place.

Why take the time to make the distinctions you do? Just because you can get a word in doesn't mean it's worth while.

After pulling up a couple of pairs in section B, then terrace, then down the section A, I was able to get a pair of pit tickets!

half the song has interesting moments of instrumentation with treading water vocals... then interesting vocals kick in with typical instrumentation... so close to something awesome, but instead mostly rote.

"Shift" is a Horn of Plenty track, though maybe they also played that one the Friend EP way as well. That would be my preference in that instance, though.
