the Sahara needs some hardcore techno (i.e. Lenny Dee type stuff, and less Ed Banger) or maybe even some industrial (Ministry's not likely for the next year or two, how about KMFDM?)

DJ Temper Tantrum (aka Oliver Chesler aka The Horrorist aka):

Agreed on the industrial, and it would be about damn time. Skinny puppy, Pigface, KMFDM, any Genesis P-Orridge project. Front 242 would be crescent fresh!

I highly doubt that any industrial act plays Sahara. VNV Nation played to a near empty tent in 2006 and they are one of the biggest acts currently in Industrial. Skinny Puppy have lost it live, the tour last summer was very medicore. Oghre spent at least 40% of the set doing pantomim behind a blood stained sheet. Genesis P-Orridge is such a total freak that watching one of his performances would be like watching a car crash. KMFDM have gone though so many line up changes and medicore albums I really don't see them having much relevance either. Front 242 could prolly pull off a set but I would rather see Nitzer Ebb play but doubt that one too.

Ministry wouldn't be in the Sahara... but Razed in Black would...

KMFDM would be Sahara, unless they gave them after dark in the Mojave... (i.e. the Enter Shikari spot)

DJ Temper Tantrum aka The Horrorist aka Oliver Chester (or any other Lenny Dee-like hardcore techno) would def be in the Sahara though...

no idea who's playing...but here's who I'd like to see in Sahara:
    Autechre
    Orbital
    Basement Jaxx
    Squarepusher
    Matmos

I know some of them have played already..but, fuck it, that'd be a stellar line-up...maybe a little more dancy shit thrown in there too.

i dont think any industrial will be in the sahara in 09'. Benassi would be amazing in the tent...along with the chemical brothers, dieselboy, squarepusher, and i feel modeselektor needs to be brought back....their new shit is outta control and they killed it this year. Definitely agree that the sahara needs to be bumpin from dusk til 2a.m.

Benassi was sick in 2007, killed it. As did Modeselektor in 08. Both would be fine by me in 09.

Having just seen this, no fucking way. I saw him in October as part of Psychic TV on half a tab and it was perfectly lovely. Of course, his wife/bandmember has died since then, so Psychic TV is unlikely, and Throbbing Gristle's website constantly says that they have no intentions of playing the US. Some industrial would be great though. Front 242 or Revolting Cocks or My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult would be a lot of fun and vaguely possible. Less plausible but amazing would be Foetus, Cabaret Voltaire, or Einsturzende Neubauten.

I think VNV Nation played in 07. They played up against Rage. They were one the acts I was excited to see going into the festival then when I saw they conflicted with Rage.....well..........

And, I would not like to see any of the aforementioned bands. Too agro for the Sahara imo.
