Thread: NFL Time

Its probs just me. I live in LA and I find it strange how football is a religion to so many people. I've lived here my whole life and never had a team and therefore was never interested and maybe its just my generation but I grew up after the Rams/Raiders and before the Jags/Chargers/(Rams 2.0?) and it seems so foreign how meaningful it is to so many people. any other native LA-ians feel the same way?
Certain songs they get so scratched into our souls

Anyone? Anyone? Hello? The kid asked a legitimate question. Is there anyone else in LA who doesn't like football but is still reading the NFL thread at midnight on Friday? Anyone?

Ha...only my Vikings could make Brian Hoyer look like Drew Brees. Flinging it around to everybody, Josh Gordon already has over 100+ all-purpose yards in the 1st Qtr.

Seriously he was alone crashed his own car with no one else around and didn't hurt himself or anyone else. Suspend him a game for punishment but let it be done already people.

As a 9ers fan the DUI doesn't bother me as much as the fact that he was out partying all night until 7 am before a practice day.

I wasn't too familiar with his college career, but I gotta say, Honey Badger has been really impressive so far this year. He's undersized, and doesn't seem to be overly athletic, but he's always around the ball making plays.

At this point the 49ers will even be lucky to make the play offs. I know it's still early but this team has shown me nothing to think they are capable of going the distance again.

Nah, the problem isn't with the QB at all. It's the Crabtree/Manningham injury just being a lot more important then first thought. Teams are doubling Boldin because no other WR has been able to get open in single coverage. Kaepernick is getting plenty of time from the line to throw the ball he just doesn't have any open receivers to throw it to.

On another note Aldon Smith taking an indefinite leave of absence AKA rehab. At least it appears he is taking the proper steps to get his life in order so lets see if it will stick.

You've beat two 1-2 teams and a 0-3 team. It should be a great game.

Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron are two legitimate offensive weapons. If the Browns deal Gordon I will be pissed. I can tolerate dumping Richardson, but Gordon is on the cusp of being a true #1 WR an the Browns need him for their offense to even be remotely respectable.

after not scoring a TD for almost 30 straight possessions Weeden somehow transformed into a Touchdown machine...

and the way they ran the ball in Richardson's absence was bordering on incredible.. it's like the back-up RBs were on complete Beast Mode

Or the Vikings area terrible team and the Browns are just one of the better terrible teams. The a Browns beating the Vikings does not mean very much.

Man, that Browns offensive sure was stagnant without Richardson, wasn't it Bug? And man, did he shred that 49ers defense in his debut? Holy shit.

This, I agree with. They actually had a very good play-calling day for Gordon yesterday, I'm hoping it wasn't just a "showcase" effort for potential suitors.

Oggbanaya/Rainey/McGahee combined for 14 rushes for 49 yards.. almost half that yardage was just 1 carry..
Yeah you won't miss Richardson at all.

The fact that Hoyer made Cameron and Gordon look like Pro-Bowlers means it might be time to take Weeden's balls out of your mouth.

Oh I am sorry but at any point did I say I liked Brandon Weeden? No. In fact I am pretty sure I have stated I know he sucked. He just has the arm to keep defenses honest. That's it. Reading comprehension eludes you again, Bug.

My point all along has been that Trent Richardson's loss is not a big one for the Browns. How did Richardson do in weeks one and two?... what about three with his new team? He's on his way to the pro bowl for sure.
