Well I was right, SEA-ATL was the game of the week. Not exactly what I was hoping for. I will say that I was extremely proud about the way my team fought back after being down 0-20 at half. Russell Wilson was 25 seconds away from the greatest comeback in playoff history, but it wasn't quite enough. Pete Carroll is wishing he knew how to kick a field goal.

The NFL playoffs are playing out to be one of the best postseasons in recent memory. Disappointed the Seahawks lost but that game was a classic.

Tough loss Bobby, but I think it's safe to assume that the Hawk's will pick up right where they left off next season. What a fucking weekend of football.

Sorry Boberooni, you're wrong on both counts... Did you watch the Raven/Bronco game yesterday? Also, did you ever watch the Niner/Giant game in '02? Bills/Oilers in '92?

But why give him a warm up kick to size it up. Make the kicker make the first one, always.

I was at the game so I am biased by what I saw in light of the crowd response but....

did the Pats not win decisively despite getting gang-banged by the refs?

    So much fail.

    Yeah I didn't notice anything.

I did see Wes Welker arm-lock somebody to break a huge play down the sideline though; kudos on that one.

It felt like the refs were letting everyone play.

You mean the one where after the incomplete pass he threw the ball at the ref? It wasn't exactly a throw but it was more then a simple toss to the ref that he should know that he shouldn't do to begin with. Rookie mistake for a 10 year vet.

I watched all 4 games this weekend and the refs, by and large, were letting a lot of shit go because it's the playoffs.

    That call was bullshit.

Fantastic weekend. At this point, I'd be very surprised if we don't see a New England-San Francisco Super Bowl. Those Niners, man. Maybe not the best team overall, but damn if they haven't gotten hot at the right time.

Yes they have been letting them play and I like that. However none of the non calls involved a ref directly. Should it have been called? That is debatable. However what I am sure of is you don't toss the ball at the ref pretty hard. I'm sure it was done out of frustration due to the bad throw but Brandon Lloyd should know better, Once again I'm going to say a rookie mistake by a 10 year vet. I don't think it will happen but I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a fine for it either.

I could list several reasons why yesterday's comeback was every bit as impressive as either of those games, but it's only a comeback if you win the game, so why bother. I will say that is was probably the most excruciating game I've ever witnessed. I'm a huge Notre Dame fan and the 40pt drubbing we took from Alabama the other weekend was infinitely preferable to the sick, nauseating feeling the Atlanta game has left in my stomach. I usually reserve this kind of grief for dead family members only. Perhaps that belongs in the confessions thread, but in any case the smug has left the building.

The Seahawks seem to have a great future with Russell. He's played like a veteran, rather than a third-round rookie, which is impressive.

If the Seahawks get some legit receivers, they are going to be scary as hell to face twice a year.

    Exactly.
Plus the refs blew the whistle early enough for there not to even have been a snap...they snapped it anyway and the kicker let off a practice kick. he knew it didnt matter so he didnt try as hard IMO. You cant let a team get down that far with only 31 seconds left. BTW WHY THE FUCK did Peyton take a knee and go into OT?????? Case in point why you wouldnt do that, in the SEA/ATL game. John Fox fired, confirmed.

I laughed, I cried, I shouted at my TV with mirth. And the Broncos lost. And it was good.

Wilson should get rookie of the year. Marshawn Lynch didn't look himself during that game I think the foot sprain had something to do with it. Got to give credit to the ATL defense though for stuffing the run especially on 3rd/4th down.

RGIII will but I think it should be Luck. I mean Luck did take a 2 win team and turn it into an 11 win team with less then what Wilson or RGIII had around him. Also I know it not going to happen but Alfred Morris should get a look at rookie of the year also.

Wow, however the Eagles were the only team that makes even any close to sense in the NFL for Chip. So does Vick stay around in Philly then as he is better suited for Kelley's offense or is he still gone?
