Why would he stay at home during OTAs? I guess he could have because I don't think they are mandatory but if he is trying to be a team leader then he did the right thing by going.

Feel really sorry for the guy, this couldn't come at a worse time given his contract situation.
I don't think that his contract value is going to take that significant of a hit honestly. He is still young enough and has shown enough to get a nice size contract in my opinion .

It was an attempt at humor. Seems like Crabtree was either holding out or nursing some sort of minor injury every year during OTAs.

Seems like most of the media has written him off already but I feel like this is the prime opportunity for A.J. Jenkins to break out.

They got rid of Kafka, and now placing Tebow as 3rd string QB.

Tebow needs to realize he's not gonna make it as a QB in NFL and just convert into a TE.

Even he did that there's no way in hell he'd rank in the top 200 players at that position. Same with FB, RB and pretty much every other position he could conceivably switch to. You can't just switch positions four years into your NFL career and expect to compete with players who have played that positon their entire lives.

Not true, Antonio Gates never played football in College, and yet he turned out a pretty damn good career so far at TE.

forget about Tebow though, I feel like this is the much bigger news to come from the NFL today

Did Gates spend his first three NFL seasons at QB before switching to TE? I didn't say that no one in the history of the NFL has successfully changed positions or succeeded at a position they had little experience at. My point was that if Tebow changed positons, he'd have little chance of making an NFL roster let alone seeing the field. I don't see how Antonio Gates' hall of fame career has anything to do with that point.

Even if he switches to TE, what is he going to do for the Patriots, be in a three TE set or something?

The fact that any team still gives him a shot for a roster spot is asinine

Business wise it's a great move cause he moves jerseys

Tebow and Gronk in the same locker room, hilarious. I hope Hard Knocks is listening.

I guess three tight end sets are an actual thing (apart from goalline situations) that Chip Kelly is planning on using, and that Jim Harbaugh has been using.

    Bring on the Tebow era!

That would be great television. Sadly though Hard Knocks just primarily focuses on rookies and second year players. Plus I don't see any situation where Bilichick would allow Hard Knocks cameras in his locker room.

From what I've been reading, he'll study some of the TE position but mostly QB. If he's third string, it'll be no pressure for him and he can just develop like he should have been doing. I don't see him making the 53 man roster but it's basically a free try out for Belichick so why not. The guy DOES have talent. I don't know how and where that will translate in the NFL though.

Belichick will find a spot for this guy and, mark my words, he will be involved in one of our two wins over the Jets in 2013.

I love this move. We will see Tim Tebow flourish as a Patriot.

It is amusing that if this somehow works, it's example #3452 of why Bill Belichick and the Krafts are genius, but that if it fails, all the Tebow haters will get their yuks in, but no one will fault the Patriots.

Patriots’ Aaron Hernandez reportedly questioned in death investigation in North Attleboro

By Travis Andersen and Jaclyn Reiss, Globe Staff and Globe Correspondent

NORTH ATTLEBORO -- Authorities are refusing to comment on a media report that Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has been questioned by State Police in connection to a death investigation here.

Troopers were seen escorting a woman into Hernandez’s home at about 7:35 tonight at the upscale Westford Estates development here.

SI.com, citing unnamed sources, reported earlier today that State Police had questioned Hernandez in connection with a probe into the discovery of a body on Monday night in an industrial yard in town, but he is not considered a murder suspect.

A State Police spokesman could not confirm tonight that troopers had questioned Hernandez.

The Patriots, Hernandez’s agent, the Bristol district attorney’s office, and local police all refused to comment Tuesday.

Travis Andersen can be reached at tandersen@globe.com. Follow him on Twitter @TAGlobe.

He isn't a suspect so it really isn't that big of a deal. Now obviously something could change it become a big deal but right now at this moment it's nothing.

It will be the top sports story on every New England news broadcast tonight.

Followed by the Bruins game 4 preview, the Red Sox sweep of the Rays today (pending) then the NBA Finals recap.

    It's a big deal here.

Obviously it is a big deal in New England, but assuming he still isn't a suspect it should be completely forgotten about in 2 days, probably for something about Tebow.

This is a big deal in New England too. This is so ridiculous. Putin is a dick. I went to college with Bob's son and hung out with their family a few times. There is NO WAY he "gave" Putin that ring. Next to his family the things he loves most are football and money.
