Suggs Out For The Season
Ball So Hard University won't have its most famous alum on the field this season.
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles tendon while training in Arizona and is expected to miss the entire 2012 season.
The reigning NFL defensive player of the year suffered the injury one week after the Ravens took Alabama linebacker Courtney Upshaw in the NFL draft.
Adam Schefter reports Suggs suffered the injury while playing basketball and will undergo surgery on the tear next week.
Suggs told Ravens Insider that he'll be back midseason. "I love how you guys are saying 'out for the season," he said. "Just gonna make my comeback that much bigger."
His absence will leave a huge hole in a Ravens defense that ranked third in the NFL in 2011. The 29-year-old was coming off his best season as a pro. He had 14 sacks and seven forced fumbles in Baltimore's 12-4 campaign.
The linebacker denied that basketball led to the injury, telling ESPN that he suffered it while doing training exercises. There are reports that the Ravens could have language in Suggs' contract prohibiting him from some activities, like basketball.
Fan reaction has focused on that report too. To which we say: Really? Basketball is off limits for NFL players now? Players of the biggest sport in the country can't play the second-biggest sport in the country? What sense does that make? I suppose if he had awkwardly stepped off a curb and broken his ankle, folks wouldn't want him to walk in public.
What are NFL players supposed to do in the offseason: Cover themselves in bubble wrap and hibernate in their basements? An Achilles can rupture during any number of training exercises. The threat of possible injury can't be a full deterrent. He was playing ball, probably so hard it hurt. But let's not act like the guy was jumping over the Snake River Canyon on a motorcycle. Accidents happen. Don't rip the guy for doing something to keep in shape.
Regardless of how it happened, Suggs is done, at least for a while. Upshaw figures to be the man to fill Suggs' void. General manager Ozzie Newsome traded out of the first round to pick No. 35 to select the first-team All-American last week. He figured to replace departing free agent Jarret Johnson, but now has a bigger role to play in Baltimore's defense.
This ain't no middle of the mall shit.

Jets cursed out Seahawks for drafting Bruce Irvin
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...ng-bruce-irvinThe Mel Kipers of the world thought the Seattle Seahawks reached when they took pass rusher Bruce Irvin in the first round. The Rex Ryans of the world thought it was a great pick. We'll trust the Ryans on this one.
After they took Irvin 15th overall, the Seahawks received a call from New York Jets headquarters. The Jets "good-naturedly" cursed at the Seahawks for taking the guy they planned to draft one pick later, according Len Pasquarelli of the SportsXchange. Irvin also was believed to be on the short list of candidates to be drafted in Chicago, Green Bay and San Francisco. One general manager called Irvin the "hottest player in the draft."
This is a case in which the draftnik industrial complex disagreed and didn't see a player's value the same way as the NFL did. This also happened with New England Patriots second-round pick Tavon Wilson. (And we know how Bill Belichick feels about that.)
Irvin might boom and he might bust, but don't tell us that he was a "reach." No one knows.
Cards resigned Calais Campbell today.
Pete Carroll says Russell Wilson will get a chance to compete for the week 1 starting gig. Hawks need to ditch TJax and let Flynn and Wilson duel it out in training camp. I think Wilson is gonna be the steal of the draft.
get excited y'all, like 3 weeks or so until the hof game. football is almost back!

Technically it's his first, but only because he drove off after he ran over that lady in Buffalo. Took the hit and run over the DUI. It amazes me how predictable all these offseason arrests have grown to be. It's almost become like a form of injury that teams need to account for.
Just heard the 911 call from Dez Bryant's mom. Holy shit.
Dude sounds like a complete psychopath.

Yeah I remember the draft talk a couple years back, every team except the Ravens and Cowboys stayed away from Bryant specifically because of his mom and his entourage, remember Jeff Ireland's infamous comments about his mom after a draft interview?... I knew his crack head mom would come back and bite Dez and the organization in the ass.
damn Mannings presence has hiked up prices like crazy! I got left with going to the Bucs vs Broncos game on Dec. 2
Upcoming Shows:
3/19 Hospitality DnB Tour: High Contract, Camo & Krooked, Fred V & Grafix
4/6 Sigur Ros
4/12-4/14 COACHELLA
5/2 Crystal Castles
Prices are also hiked for the Steelers at Raiders game. Still debating if I want to spend $150 to sit in the far back...
Let the healing begin......followed by a series of brutal ass-kickings.
