There wasn't an official warning on it from the NFL, they released a memo that really generalized what some of the loopholes were during an uncapped season but didn't specify anything, not to mention the fact that the NFL approved all of the deals. Still wondering why the Peppers contract (amongst others) is not being scrutinized by the NFL. Their just trying to get $$$ from the teams that bring home the bacon.

according to Mike&Mike on ESPN radio this morning, the Redskins and Cowboys were warned on multiple occasions by the NFL Executive Committee that front-ending deals in the uncapped year would be viewed as circumventing the cap in future years and that there would likely be consequences. The deals were approved because they fit the rules for that year, but the warnings were in place. Apparently (again, all I know is what I heard on the radio this morning) Snyder and Jones figured that all they'd get was a slap on the wrist and went forward and structured the deals the way they did despite the warnings.

First big deal of the day... Brandon Marshall reunited with Cutler to the Bears for two third rounders

What the fuck are the Dolphin's thinking? They've officially thrown in the towel on Peyton Manning, that's pretty obvious. So their starting WR right now are Davone Bess and Brian Hartline? They must have really wanted Marshal out of that locker room cause this looks like a fucking steal for the Bears.

Fuck yeah! Could be the #1 receiver the Bears have been looking for, and at a bargain. I know Marshall is a bit quirky, to say the least, but he's extremely talented and likes playing with Cutler. Well worth the risk, I think. I'm very happy with Phil Emery's first big move as GM.

To be fair, the man is a psychopath. But he was Miami's best offensive player and easily the best wideout the Bears have had on their lineup in 30+ years. Two third rounders. Unbelievable.

He signed a pretty gigantic contract when he was traded to Miami so the Bears had to agree to absorb that under their cap which is half the battle. It may seem like the Bears made out like crooks on this one but in the end I'm sure Miami just wanted to be rid of him and his $$$. Apparently towards the end of the season he was advising them to either get a QB or send him packing, so uh, they sent his ass packing.

Maybe the dolphins feel if they can get Reggie Wayne at WR is will increase their chances of getting Peyton. But yes this was steal for the Bears.

The Dolphins just conceded that they are in full rebuild mode. Unless they sign Vincent Jackson to replace Marshall I can't see any other way to interpret this move.

This was my reaction. The Dolphins will throw a ton of cash at Reggie Wayne and get him signed before Peyton makes his decision. It's going to fail, though. Manning is going to Denver.

They should trade Reggie Bush and sign Joseph Addai. Really sweeten the pot.

Bears are apparently working to sign Jason Campbell to backup Cutler. I'll take it. Big upgrade from Hanie and McCown.

Add Josh Morgan to pair up with Garcon in Washington... RG3 is going to be stacked with help.

Wow the Bears are doing some great work so far... And apparently they still want Mario Williams to visit.

Hawks have to have the edge now that the Dolphins shipped Marshall out of town, right?

Word is that Manning thought of Marshall as a problem, and didn't want to play with him. Doesn't matter because he still isn't going to Miami. But the owner is really making an effort to get him by droppinghis number 1 receiver for the possibility of signing Manning.

This move was not done to try and lure Manning to Miami. It makes absolutely no sense. This is the Dolphins cleaning house in preparation for a rebuild. You don't lure future Hall of Fame QBs to your team but getting rid of your Pro Bowl receiver and best offensive weapon, no matter how much of a pain in the ass he is.

It will come down to $$$... Flynn's old coaches are the HC and OC at Miami so there is some leverage on their end.

Sidney Rice, Doug Baldwin, Golden Tate and Zach Miller > Brian Hartline, Davone Bess, Clyde Gates, Anthony Fasano

Hopefully that balances out any advantage the Dolphins have. Honestly I don't even know if I should be excited if the Hawks get Flynn. The guy has two starts and there's a good chance he's already played his best NFL game.
