I was having this conversation with my friend about who should headline 09. He said The Killers are headlining material. Then other people were saying the same thing too. i like the killers but have them headlline??? FUCK NO!!

I could not agree less. I dont think there anywhere near headliners. Sub-Headliners at most.

I just wanted to post this to see if i can get an opinion or two so they wont think im the only one.

i feel the exact same way...i can sing along to every song on SAMS TOWN, that song "Bones" is so amazing, my best friend and I have lots of bonding time spent to that album

Solid album band, and fuck y'all, Hot Fuss is still a fantastic record. But they're genuinely, actively bad on stage. They have absolutely no idea what they're doing up there.

Ugh, I hate it when people say shit like that, as though they are enlightening naive little old me of some fiercely guarded industry secret.

It makes absolutely no difference to me whether or not Mr. Brightside is the product of Pro Tools or radioactive hazmat waste or even actual honest-to-God voodoo magic, it's still a great song. And Hot Fuss is a great album. There are other bands who use all the same kit and tricks and produce albums of less interest to me.

I like to listen to Killers albums more than others. I just wouldn't go see them play.

Normally, I actually kind of agree with you, but...

An authentically hardworking indie band that makes honest but unlistenably bad music is still a shit band. I admire their moxy and all, but I still don't want to listen to them. I'm under no illusions that The Killers are essentially a corporate-designed packaged product, but all the same, I like listening to their music. Whatever went on behind the scenes, doesn't matter if the song does it's damn job at the end of the process.

I am aware that I'm defending the Killers from basically all the things I've accused Coldplay of, but I stand by both opinions. I'm complex that way.

I said that I can't listen to music knowing that its' not real, and that it hasn't been lovingly or carefully created.

it's called honesty. you can hear it in music- even EDM, you can just fucking tell whether or not music is decent, good, honest, creative, whatever the fuck you want to call it., music either has IT, or it doesn't.
the killers have so little IT, that they can't even begin to fathom what IT might be.
