I suppose what I mean is "Get the job done = getting to the next round." It certainly feels weird to "celebrate" a loss but we did well to keep ourselves alive despite playing rather poorly on the whole.

That really was a silly call. That and the one call in the first half that should've simply not been called to give us play advantage were lame.

Yeah I figured that is what you meant. Was making more of a statement on how sloppy we were - really didn't have any control in our match or our advancement.

Jones looked like Bambi on ice. Fucking idiot half the game. Who trys to run into a German player, miss, hit a ref, fall on the ground, act like your hurt for a free kick, and finally find out the ref is looking down on you like you're a moron. Jones was a complete joke this game. Bradley looked a bit better, not saying much. Germany easily coulda won that game 4 or 5 to 0.

Completely agreed, and this is one of the reasons I'm really surprised Mixx hasn't played at all so far as he's a player who can hold on to the ball, find a pass, and move attacks forward.

As for Jozy, I'd be quite happy if he could play some part in the next game but I seriously doubt it; when players pull up like he did it's normally a rather long (at least a month) layoff. I hope I'm wrong!

Spot on assessment. So do you think JK should play Mix in the position that Bradley currently occupies? He is obviously not comfortable in the position he has been forced to play these 3 games. Put Mix in his place and Bradley in a more defensive mid role where he is more comfortable.

Does anyone else feel that this could have happened - getting blown out - if Germany brought its A-Game?

They freaking dominated the flow and it seemed they should have had two or three more if they took more shots.

Interesting stats on productivity per confederation.

In spanish, but pretty much it's a percentage of points earned against possible points, and how many teams qualified to the next round.

North and South America are kicking serious ass.

    SOUTH AMERICA (CONMEBOL)

    75.9% de rendimiento
    41 puntos de 54 posibles

Clasificados (6): Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay
    Eliminados (1): Ecuador

    EUROPE (UEFA)

    52.1% de rendimiento
    61 puntos de 117 posibles

Clasificados (6): Alemania, Bélgica, Francia, Grecia, Holanda, Suiza
Eliminados (7): Bosnia, Croacia, España, Inglaterra, Italia, Portugal, Rusia

    NORTH AMERICA (CONCACAF)

    50% de rendimiento
    18 puntos de 36 posibles

Clasificados (3): Costa Rica, Estados Unidos, México
    Eliminados (1): Honduras

    AFRICA (CAF)

    26.6% de rendimiento
    12 puntos de 45 posibles

    Clasificados (2): Argelia, Nigeria
Eliminados (3): Camerún, Costa de Marfil, Ghana

    ASIA (AFC)

    8.3% de rendimiento
    3 puntos de 36 posibles

    Clasificados: (0)
Eliminados (4): Australia, Corea del Sur, Irán, Japón

Ideally yes, but I don't think he's ready to start games yet. I think Bradly is struggling with being the person who all our attacking play goes through, as a slightly loose touch or misplaced pass kills the move; it's almost like he's over-thinking things, or isn't used to playing that extra 10-20 yards further up the field. Mix has the technique and passing skills to play this role, but it's a gamble to ask him to perform such an important role with relatively little major international experience.

Yeah yeah I know we would've gone through anyway, but Ronaldo "saving" America was pretty awesome and I hope got less people to hate him.

So, Rodriguez has the goal of the tourney so far, edging out RVP. That was some sexy shit right there.

It's a great goal and so was RVP's but my favorite is still Cahill's so far.

i was at the Colombia vs. Uruguay game today. most in attendance appeared to be Colombia supporters, and the stadium went ballistic with each goal James scored. my heart, though, broke a little when Forlan was subbed, we probably watched his last game at a WC. he was boss at the last WC, but his perfomance has declined steeply ever since.

^yeahh dude !! You better get your dick wet over there. Edit: get layed wether you have a penis or not.

I've been up all night watching the best goals of Best, Beckenbauer, Pele etc. and Lionel Messi is without a doubt the most talented person to ever play this game. As much as I want to see Holland get thier first World Cup... shit... I want to see Messi get his too.
