Woohoo! First team to 6 points is the Netherlands!

And yeah, Cahill's goal was a fantastic shot.

What was Leckie thinking trying to use his chest?! If he lays out for it and uses his head that's a goal regardless of where it goes.

RvP's yellow today means he's out of the final group game against Chile, but depending on the result of the next game that might not even matter in terms of their chances of progressing.

Cahill goal is up there with RVP goal against Spain IMO. Great game, but these refs need to let the players play. Too many bullshit calls this world cup.

I don't think the refs have been all that bad tbh, but that call today was NEVER a penalty.

Yeah, that one along with the Spain penalty and the Brazil penalty.

I dont know how much further his arm could be behind him, it was no where near intentional. Alsoo, every little bump they call a foul. Let the guys play.

So far, this WC has not disappointed. Only one real "snoozer" of a match, IMO (Iran v Nigeria). Love the fight of the Aussies, but glad to see Netherlands take another 3 points. Been a fan of Dutch soccer since the Ruud Gullit, Van Basten, d Boer brothers, etc days.

I haven't smoked since Coachella so I can't use that as an excuse, although Gue's comment about my glasses might be legit.

Netherlands wasn't gonna lose to Spain and Chile had that same drive to not lose to Spain again either. Revenge can be pretty powerful when all your energy is focused on beating the team that took you out last tourney. Give credit to Netherlands and Chile! It's their time.

Spain's still had some pretty sloppy touches on the ball in and around the box, though.

8 GROUPS OF 4. EACH GROUP HAS 4 TEAMS WITHIN A GROUP. EACH TEAM PLAYS EACH OTHER ONCE WITHIN THAT GROUP. 2 TEAMS WITH THE HIGHEST POINTS WITHIN EACH GROUP ADVANCES.

Damn... I thought Spain was going all the way to the semi-finals. This just messed up my bracket pretty bad. But I'm happy for Chile.

I was pretty surprised to see Costa back in the starting lineup again for Spain. Would have rather seen them go with a false 9 up top, and attack with more mids. That being said, Chile earned it, for sure. Glad to see the Netherlands got through, as well. I still think Argentina will win it in the end.

    Croatia is raping Cameroon.

The Croatia-Mexico game next Monday will be a very intense game. Mexico needs at least a draw.

    Yeah, I'm already getting nervous.

We (Mexico) can't go out against Croatia looking for a draw, we have to go out and try to win the game. They just showed what their offense is capable of and Saint Memo might not be as lucky next time.

So I think the match will end up in a draw with lots of goals, maybe 2-2.

Mexico vs Netherlands in the next round.

Well, since Cahill is out for the Spain game I don't see Aussies scoring so I think we're looking at a 0-0 draw. Socceroos take 3rd on GD.
