Just a heads up guys, tomorrow's Dortmund-Madrid match is on FX. Not Fox Soccer, not FSN, not regular Fox. FX.

Barca got destroyed by Bayern Munich yesterday. That patchwork back four had no answers.

Love the Dortmund underdog story, but just can't see them taking out Real.

Yeah, the way Barca capitulated yesterday was scary; even with over 60% possession they really only threatened to score a few times I can think of. I don't think Messi should have started as it was painfully clear he was well short of being at full fitness and it really hurt Barca going forward.

Also, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned how Bayern have signed the uber-talented Mario Gotze from Dortmund - the rich get richer I suppose.

I had little desire to go through the effort needed to include the umlaut in his name.

Would make for one of many interesting side stories if there were to be an all German final.

Enough with the FX show name drops, please.

Well Schweinsteiger's natural position is to play in the double-pivot behind the more attacking midfielder who normally is Toni Kroos (injured at the moment), so I wouldn't say his position is under thread. That said, someone is going to be left out in the cold as Bayern will have 5 players vying for the 3 midfield positions but that is something normal at most big clubs. The reason top clubs like Real, Barca, United, etc. can challenge on so many fronts is due to their strength in depth, and this is exactly what Bayern are doing with this signing. Word this morning is that Bayern have also tied up a deal for Lewandowski as well, which is just fucking unfair haha.

Yeah that is true. Gives players breaks to play too. That would be crazy. Especially after the way he played today!

Defense aside, I argued before that he should have never started, they should've started Cesc, Tello and Villa. Why they cont to use Alexis is beyond me. The guy has only scored 4 times in league and Pedro only 5 compared to Tello's 7 and Cesc 10 etc.

And just like that, Aston Villa can head into Wigan on Sunday with relegation completely off the cards.

Looks as though the europa league winners will now get a spot in the champions league. Finally that competition will mean something.

Anyone planning on going to the World Cup next year? It's on my bucket list but not too sure what the ball park price is. I'm a member of the American Outlaws and they have a package that pretty much includes everything except tickets for $4400-$5000, but not too sure if I want to stay for the two weeks they'll be there for.

An incredible CL Final, one of the best I have seen. Back and forth, both teams playing for the win. Each keeper had plenty of great moments, as well.

My friend made the observation, and I agree, that although a rivalry between Barca and Real has amazingly skilled players, the antics tend to over ride the actual play. Seeing two rivals like Dortmund and Munich play the game the right way with intensity was very refreshing.

Ribery carried on the antics, for those that like that sort of thing.

Anyone watching the Netherlands vs Germany under 21 game right now? I can't decide whether Netherlands is playing a great game or if Germany is bored and not really trying.

My friend and I fly to Seattle early tomorrow morning for the USMNT qualifier against Panama, and I'm super fucking excited as the only other competitive (i.e. non-friendly) game I've been to was the Gold Cup Final against Mexico in 2011 where we were outnumbered 10-1 by Mexican fans. We'll be sitting in the American Outlaws' fan section so it should be a rollicking good time.

What a great atmosphere. You must have had a blast. The US is starting to look pretty good. They just need to toughen up at the end and close these games out strong. Great to see Jozi finally carry his Dutch league success to the USMNT

I'd recommend that anyone interested in seeing a USMNT game sit with the American Outlaws; not only was everyone we met and talked with very friendly, but the march to the stadium and the chanting throughout the game made for an unforgettable experience.

Oh, and my friend and I briefly met Jurgen Klinsmann while he and his family were milling around Pikes Place yesterday morning
