This thread inspired me to make some pizza as well.

Anyone have a good sauce recipe that they would recommend? I want to make my sauce, but I don't have a recipe that i've used before.

If you want to put forth the effort...

    • 8-10 Roma tomatoes - halved
    • drizzle romas with olive oil, salt and pepper
    • 2 cloves fresh chopped garlic
    • 1 tblsp each parsley, oregeno, basil, (fresh or dry flaked)
    • bake 350-400 for 10-15 minutes
    • add tomatoes and juices to blender and blend.
    • pour contents into saucepan and add 1/4c-1/2c dry red wine.
    • simmer for 15 minutes until just slightly reduced.

    enjoy.

also, the best place to get dough is from your local pizza shop. Most will be hapy to sell you some of their fresh dough.

Awesome. I'm guessing I just bake the tomatoes and then blend the parsley, oregano, Basil and garlic, right? Or do you put all that in with the tomatoes when you bake?

Well the sauce is done, and it's fantastic. My dad has been growing Parsley, Oregano and Basil, so those were all fresh. I can't wait to try the pizza that this'll be going on.

I put mine up to 500 hundred to get it real hot and the stone hot, then I'll turn it down to 450. I like my crust crispy though.

Also, how long do you keep it on the grill?

Good luck Nips, be sure to tell us how it goes. But no worries, pizza is surprisingly easy to make.

It is really good...I have been going to the location in Laguna for years. I was pretty stoked that I have one now just down the road near the Cardinals Stadium.
But Oregano's is the best Chicago Style Pizza in AZ.

Their chopped salads are good too.
    Whiskey Sour

    2 oz blended whiskey
    Juice of 1/2 lemon
    1/2 tsp powdered sugar
    1 cherry
    1/2 slice lemon

Shake blended whiskey, juice of lemon, and powdered sugar with ice and strain into a whiskey sour glass. Decorate with the half-slice of lemon, top with the cherry, and serve.

    Exactly.

Roll out your tj's dough. Get your stone good and hot. Sprinkle the stone with cornmeal. Throw the dough down. Cover it with your toppings (whatever you like, really, but you have to use fresh whole milk mozz. it's the only way to go). Drizzle the whole thing with a really high quality olive oil. Bake at about 450 for 10 mins.

    Now I want pizza too.

I made the pizzas tonight. I took pictures, but I don't have a way to get them on here just yet. The sauce was perfect for the pizza, my dough could have been better if I had regular flour instead of whole wheat, but it turned out pretty great overall. I had a pepperoni and roasted garlic, my dad did pepperoni, sausage, onions, bell peppers and mushrooms and my brother had pepperoni, onions, olives and mushrooms. Disgustipated, your sauce recipe is amazing.

Cook the bite-size tenderloin pieces to your liking. Once finished add the tenderloin and arugula and a bit more fresh blue cheese. I also make a balsamic reduction and drizzle it over the entire pizza.
