Corgan is a bigger fuckwad than what I took him for - which was rather large in size.

Adore is what got me into SP. I know I am weird, but I actually think the Mellon Collie-Adore-Machina run is my favorite.

No, Adore is good. Gish, Siamese Dream, MATIS and Adore are all great albums.

I played out SD, I don't listen to Gish enough. Adore and MATIS I still listen to.

First of all, sorry if you saw this thread bumped and thought there were new tour dates announced.

I just didn't want to make a new thread for this, but if you haven't cringed or felt sorry for someone recently, here ya go:

Billy has always been a fan of pro wrestling. he has even participated in ring antics and hit someone over the head with a guitar. Yeah it's lame as fuck to hear that but if this marks the end then the end occurred over a decade ago when he started doing this schtick.

    Back in 2000.

    http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/143...pumpkins.jhtml

So why would Billy Corgan smash a guitar over someone's head?

Because he doesn't like to be interrupted.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman has finally commented on his recent appearance at an Extreme Championship Wrestling event that saw him bash ECW personality Lou E. Dangerously over the head with an acoustic guitar. As we previously reported, Corgan hit the ring in Peoria, Illinois at an ECW event on July 22 to perform, but left amid a melee sparked by his guitar shot on Dangerously (see "Pumpkins At Work In Studio; Corgan Clashes With ECW").

Corgan, a longtime wrestling fan, gives his side of the incident on ECW's official Web site, explaining that he was invited to sing the national anthem by ECW head Paul Heyman at the event, and that he didn't take kindly to Dangerously's attempts to interrupt it.

"Let me start by saying that this incident with 'Lou E. Imitation' is a complete outrage," Corgan says on ECWwrestling.com. "After the warm reception I received from the crowd when I was announced as a surprise guest, what followed was like a bucket of cold water.

"Before I could play a note, I was attacked by Lou 'I used to be the Sign Guy but the Dudleys left me behind' Dangerously and his band of reckless thugs, [ECW stars] Steve Corino, Scotty Anton, and Jack Victory," Corgan continued. "It was, needless to say, an unwarranted intrusion upon my performance, and an insult that won't be easily forgotten. Lou may be the greatest manager in sports entertainment, but he is a no-class individual who should be ashamed to call himself an American."

After being surrounded by Corino, Anton, and Victory, Corgan managed to avoid a three-on-one whooping, thanks to the arrival of ECW stars Tommy Dreamer and Jerry Lynn. Corgan's full comments can be found at ECWwrestling.com.

Corino seems to have it in for musicians, as the grappler got into a minor skirmish with Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst during a Limp show last December (see "Limp Bizkit Clashes With ECW Wrestlers Onstage").

As for Corgan's out-of-ring activities, he and his fellow Pumpkins are currently holed up in a Chicago studio working on new material before heading out on the road next month as part of the Summersault 2000 tour.

There used to be youtube footage but WWE had it taken down it looks like.

Billy made a new album and is going to give it away free or something. He also launched some spirituality blog if you all care. I'm not linking his shit but I figured if you want to know, now you do and google will help you.

    From the link ^

Sounds interesting... I really don't know what to think about BC anymore.

I'm happy to finally announce the plans for the new Smashing Pumpkins album.

Recording began yesterday, September 15th, 2009 on the new record which will be entitled 'Teargarden by Kaleidyscope'. The album will feature 44 songs, 4 of which are now being recorded. My desire is to release a song at a time beginning around Halloween of this year, with each new release coming shortly after until all 44 are out. Each song will be made available absolutely for free, to anyone anywhere. There will be no strings attached. Free will mean free, which means you won't have to sign up for anything, give an email address, or jump through a hoop. You will be able to go and take the song or songs as you wish, as many times as you wish.

We will however sell highly limited edition EP's (of 4 songs each times 11), and details of how those EP's will be made available are still being worked out. Because the songs themselves will be free, the EP's will be more like collectors items for the discerning fan who will want the art itself, along with the highest possible audio quality available. The EP's will be more like mini-box sets rather than your normal cd single. We may also offer other variations for sale, say for example a digital single with a demo version of a song. The commitment that is most important is the one I'm making to you: that the music of 'Teargarden by Kaleidyscope' will be available for free to everyone. All 44 songs: free for ALL.

When the entire album is finished, it will be compiled into a deluxe box set which will also be made available for sale. Those who have bought the EP's need not worry, as the box set will not be a recompilation of the limited edition pieces.

The story of the album is based on 'The Fool's Journey', as signified in the progress of the Tarot. It is my intention to approach this by breaking down the journey of our life here into four phases as made by these different characters; the Child, the Fool, the Skeptic, and the Mystic.

The music of 'Teargarden by Kaleidyscope' harkens back to the original psychedelic roots of The Smashing Pumpkins: atmospheric, melodic, heavy, and pretty.

I already have 53 songs written for the record, so I am quite confident that I already have much of the material that I would need to undertake such an extensive project. I am very committed to seeing this album through to its completion and very, very excited about the prospect of delivering new Smashing Pumpkins music to you in a unique and exciting way.

this is quite a turnaround from the "four versions of the album being sold exclusively at four different stores" policy he had with the last album...

You only say that because you're a huge fan of the band. Casual fans who didn't care for Zeitgeist could just as easily be let down by this material too.
