Well its near the top of my favorite SP songs and SP is near the top of my fave artists of all time so I don't see whats wrong with that. I personally think your personal favorite "Three Days" by Jane's Addiction is an average song at best but you don't see me making "senseless" comments about that to you.

I don't go around saying things like "one of the best songs ever. Period." That's why. Not everything always has to be categorized as best ever or GOD or whatever, just chill mannnnn

Anyone check out the Gish or Siamese reissues? I ordered both from Amazon and both sound PHENOMENAL with a marked difference from the originals and not just a victim of the loudness war.

I think my favorite part of the entire thing are the DVDs that come with each one. The Gish set comes with a show from 1990 (one of the first known performances of the band) and is interesting to say the least.

The real prize is the DVD extra on the Siamese set. The DVD is a show in Chicago from 1993 for the record release party of the album. The show is absolutely stunning and I just could not stop watching it all day. Highly recommended.

Did you acquire the reissues on cd or vinyl? I'm just curious if I should go for the vinyl, which would give me closure on whether or not I should FINALLY purchase a record player.

Edit: I'm retarded! Apparently the CD deluxe version comes with the DVDs of those early live performances. Thanks for letting us know that the quality is considerably better with the remastering of Gish and SD.

I got them on CD. Got the deluxe version that comes with an extra CD of b-sides (which are awesome) and a DVD performance.

These are seriously some of the best remastered recordings I've ever heard...if you are a fan of the these albums I highly suggest checking them out.

thanks for posting Chris...I (unlike most) have high hopes for the album given what I heard live at the Wiltern last year. Also, for those interested the Pisces Iscariot re-issue should be dropping in April-May ish and will contain a bonus DVD containing one of the band's first known live performances in 1988.

I'd imagine so. Billy needs some income and he ain't getting it from new album sales.

For the record, those are the three I am most excited about. I would be very interested to see what else they can squeeze from the Mellon Collie era. They officially released 56 songs from that f-ing album!

They are re-issuing their entire catalog. Last year was Gish and Siamese both of which were phenomenally done. This year will be Pisces early on and Mellon Collie and Aeroplane Flies High later in the year. Adore is coming in 2013

I need to pick up those remasters on vinyl. I might as well start with Gish.

Amen. Not to mentioned the B-sides are amazing and the live performance from 1993 is out of this world. One of the best re-issues of any album ever as far as extra content and quality of re-mastering

I got the record, so no B-sides or live performance, but just the remastering is highly impressive. I have a friend with an original, so we played Disarm from both, and my copy sounds so much more full.

Nathan do you not like "The Celestials"? I think that is the best song Corgan has written in a long time. The title track is also really good too.

This album is just about what I expected.
Weak and very forgettable. Bass player is terrible
It reminds me of Maroon 5 but worse

I'm gonna guess the bass player was Billy Corgan.

Corgan did not play bass on the record.

The full band participated in the recording of this album.

There's a huge distinction between the player being terrible and the parts they are playing/wrote on the album being terrible (or you just not liking them).

It is their profession to play the instrument. They obviously have some level of proficiency.

A proper usage of a bass player being terrible: "Theklein25 picked the bass up for the first time today. He is terrible at playing the bass. Maybe he will get better...Probably not."

Yup! Both Mellon Collie and Aeroplane are slated for late 2012. Mellon Collie is going to contain 2 extra CDs worth of non-album tracks (including a lot of full songs from the Pistichio Medley) and a DVD of a live show from 1995 at the Double Door in Chicago. Should be great.
