Great job to the people who book the United Center, way to have faith in your own team.

Hey another 2-1 road loss. I was thinking the Kings need to actually start doing something can't keep relying on Quick to win the Game. 5 minutes later it's 2-1 Hawks. But yeah pretty boring game. Hopefully tomorrows is better and hopefully with a Kings win, but I'll just take a better game.

Meanwhile, back on the East Coast, the Boston Bruins steal one in Pittsburgh.

    Well, not really.

They had a game plan, executed it well, got great goaltending, and kicked the Penguins' ass.

Kings were just flat. They've never done that well in day games and trying to win one in chicago, on the road, in the WCF was a lot to ask (I still asked!!). hopefully game 2 goes better. I hope Richards is OK!!

    gg bruins.

In both games yesterday the defense controlled the game. I love it, but those types of games tend to be boring to most fans. Heck Chara can poke-check from about a mile away.

Good observation. But Hawks not really known for defense. Kings are not gonna win too many games against them if we can't net more than a couple goals. I am far less worried about Quick, Green, Doughty etc's ability to limit the Hawks production than I am about our latest power outage on goals. Someone had a good zing over on LGK during the game- "When is Kopitar going to be cleared for contact?". Our forwards need to wake the hell up, start pressuring, driving to the net and scoring, or we're toast.

A great must win victory for the kings tonight. Still the way the have played on the road I have no confidence in them in being able to win a game 7 in Chicago. Hopefully they prove me wrong though.

i know more happened leading up to this point, but there is simply no justification for taking a swing at another player's head with your stick.

I don't think he meant to hit the head though. Granted he did and he rightfully deserved the double minor and I even thought he was going to get a 5 minute major. However the way he was acting right afterwords I think shows he was going more for the body and it just slipped on him.

I love hockey though, seriously what other sport would allow someone to come back and play with that nice fresh open gash like Carter had? Stop the bleeding and get them back out there. Don't even worry about stitches or even putting a band aid over it.

he's getting a hearing, so I guess we'll find out tomorrow. even with the apology, you have to control your stick. if he got a 5 minute major and a match penalty I think he'd go without further disciplinary action, but since he continued in the game, I think he gets 1 game.

Really impressed with the Carter/Penner/Toffoli line. that line can control a game, even when they played on the road in game 2. Having Kopitar on the 3rd line seemed to open him up a bit more and with Lewis' speed I wouldn't be surprised if he gets out of his slump a bit.

So while it still needs the final vote, apparently starting next season all new incoming players are going to be required to wear the visors. Current players will be grandfathered into the clause and get to chose to wear one or not. I know hockey players are a different breed of human but I never understood why anyone wouldn't want to wear one. Then again this is the sport where getting your teeth knocked out is a symbol of initiation so what do I know.

Loved the old days when helmets were first required, yet you still had those few old guys holding out. They were nuts.

Not trying to pile on, but you better hope they get this one here. Still 1-1. OT maybe?

OT it is; and it favors the B's

Pens have played heroically tonight and Tuuka has had an answer every time save for one.

    Sensational goaltending both ends tonight.
