As a Flyers fan, I am shocked by the Richards trade. I expected us to deal Carter, especially in light of trying to sign Bryzgalov, but I never saw the Richards trade coming. I personally think it's a mistake, and I also think signing Bryzgalov for 9 years is a mistake, but hopefully with the emergence of Giroux and JVR, we can somewhat make up for the Richards loss.

I too like Schenn, but I think the Kings are going to really benefit from having Richards.

I'm still not 100 percent sold on the Bryzgalov trade, but I'm liking the new look Flyers otherwise. Looking forward to a fun NHL season and I'm hoping Matt Read makes the team right away.

Just got back from tonight's Sharks/Canucks game. Had a great time, was very good to be back at the Tank. Brent Burns is a beast. Every time #88 was on the ice (tonight he was on the 2nd defensive unit; Boyle and Murray the 1st) he has a great defensive presence, stealing pucks, breaking up plays, stopping passes... and when he was in the offensive zone he still made life hell for the Canucks. I know the guy's an All Star defenseman, but I never noticed his skills over in Minnesota. Now that he rocks the teal, I'm really excited to watch this guy do great things for our team. This is our year. I can feel it.
