    Default Paul McCartney Performing "___"

Like Roger Waters this year, "performing Dark Side of the Moon",

    IF

Paul McCartney were on the lineup next year,
    like some have speculated/rumored,
Do you think he would perform a Beatles album?

Or would it be like his recent setlists?

Do you think Coachella organizers would try to team up with Paul McCartney for a large-scale production like Waters' Dark Side?

I don't see it happening. But if it does, I don't think they could or would possibly try to top Waters in 08.

If you are one of the people hoping for or predicting McCartney for 09, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Or if anyone has anything to add...

And, yes. I know that was Roger Waters original production that came to Coachella.

I think his name would be enough to get everyone to come out for this. But yeah, setlist similar to recent ones. Lots of Beatles stuff.

But what if he performed an album? Could/Would he? Is it a slap in the face to The Beatles? Would people still go for it?

"Paul McCartney performing Abbey Road" ... eh?? nah?? Who knows.

I think his recent setlists are pretty impressive, but.. I think it'd be pretty weak as far as a headline act goes. Or would it be awesome? Can't say for sure.

Definitely awesome and not weak. He was a Beatle, after all. Also has never performed at the fest before, is a huge draw, and would unite everyone but the most pretentious of snobs.

I doubt he would ever do one of those "performing...." shows since so many people would be pissed.

Yeah, I love the idea of making everyone vomit when they see it and then think of the Fred Durst sex tape. But now it's making me sick, too.

I don't think Paul McCartney could do one album in its entirety, there are too many to choose from. If he did play, it should be a greatest hits Beatles set with Live or Let Die thrown in there.

it would look weird to have the poster read
Paul McCartney performing the songs he primarily wrote on Sgt Pepper's
    or
Paul McCartney performing the Abbey Road medley
    i would like
Paul McCartney performing Band on the Run

IF he performs he won't get the same amount of time as Waters, but he would go long enough after midnight to do a two hour set.

Both would be a stretch, but McCartney is actually in the realm of possibility since Bowie absolutely refuses to ever tour again.

Bummer because I really want to see Bowie. Especially after Pulp.

True... it does seem Bowie REALLY doesn't want to play any live shows. However, if any festival promoters are going to get him to play, it will be GV.

David Bowie didn't even play the festival he curated last year. Not even for one song with the Arcade Fire. I wonder what his deal is.

Not sure when it actually happened but he (Bowie) did turn up and sing at the Royal Albert Hall when Gilmour played there. I think this was in '06 or maybe '05.
