    Default Nine Inch Nails 2014

so with all of the fests they're being announced for, and the lack of them on the lineup but HTDA being there, i'd say this is as close as we've got for a 2014 lock.

    NIN/?/?

6/28 - Kendrick Lamar - Del Mar Fairgrounds
    7/19 - Wiz Khalifa & A$AP Rocky - Sleep Train Amphitheatre
    7/28 - Casey Veggies w/ Travi$ Scott - SOMA San Diego
9/15 - Mad Decent Block Party - Petco Park
9/15 - Godspeed You Black Emperor - Belly Up Tavern
10/11-10/13 - Austin City Limits Festival - Zilker Park
10/19-10/20 - Treasure Island Music Festival - Treasure Island
    11/22 - Drake w/ Miguel & Future - MGM Grand Garden Arena

wouldn't surprise me at all. I figure they negotiated the NIN 2014 set alongside this years HTDA negotiations.

Seriously, that would be the best show ever. I really want to see MBV again. 2009 was not enough!

It's fun thinking about, but GV's going to continue promoting big acts of the moment to the headliner line, growing the headliner base. Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, Phoenix... MGMT? The National? Frank Ocean? QOTSA?

I think best bet would be 2 of the 3 you mentioned and some act with a successful new album this summer/fall or highly anticipated album next spring. Would be very surprised to see 3 repeat headliners.

NIN is touring all over the US in the Fall. Would this really be necessary?

No way in hell MGMT or Frank Ocean headline. The National is unlikely.

Too bad every one of these sets would have tiny crowds and be ruined by the douche bags there all weekend for Daft Punk. I hope that if Daft Punk ever comes back they are on Friday so everyone will leave early.

It's been there from the beginning.. the weak Britpop headliners Friday; the rumors that DP was gonna play, that it was a done deal, then all of a sudden 'oops, no, not gonna happen'; and now the new album. It's all so obvious.

I also heard another rumor/implied confirmation that everyone will freak out about, although it shouldn't be a surprise (I've heard zero about daft, btw).

Remember when there were three repeat headliners in 2007. Anyway Daft Punk would not be a repeat headliner.

    Nine Inch Nails
The National or Mumford and Sons
    Daft Punk
I would never want to belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member...

What would be a band that is at the same level of popularity as Mumford and Sons, but isn't Mumford or Phoenix or The Black Keys?

If NIN, Depeche, and Daft are there next year, I will cry out of pure happiness. I don't think they will continue the trend of promoting smaller acts to headliner next year though.

Assume it isn't someone mentioned already in this thread.

No, not a headliner. And that's all I'm sayin.

The Depeche thing is the only thing I'm 100% certain about. Based on two things: something I was allowed to see, and their tour pattern. They're playing the US in the summer/early Fall, then doing a winter tour in Europe/South America else they're going to go, and then coming back to the North America in the Spring. This pattern has all but been confirmed by Home.

Edit--just saw that they will be in Russia in early March. Also found an interview where Dave said they'd be doing US in the spring and then they are going back to Europe to finish off their tour with some summer festival dates.

The obvs non-headliner that everyone would freak out about is the Knife.

OMG after all the great dance music I experienced this weekend and wondering who could top it next year I forgot about The Knife.

Also - someone link to the Stagecoach article where PT says he hasn't thought about the Coachella headliners yet. LOL?
