I think I might off-site camp again this year

It was nice being close even if there were no beds or good showers and it got hot early in the morning and it was hard to sleep at night from the noise and sleeping on the ground.

Though maybe such things spread over an extra day might be not so good.

Also, apparently the Quality Inn is exacting revenge upon their victims. The military rate for a room with 2 Queen-sized beds is $63 a night, but the regular rate is like... $150/night. Damn.

Someone said in the other message board that they rent a house within walking distance with a whole bunch of friends. I wonder how you find a house that close? Google? hehe. That sounded like a good idea, if I could get friends to go. I just don't want anyone in my party driving. Drunken/drugged walking should be OK though.

I misread this originally! I camped off-site but just off-site. We were behind the Coachella stage and a little over. By the artist parking. To get in we had a good 20 minute walk. To get out it was sometimes the same 20 minute walk and sometimes real quick if you manage to follow Chan Marshall out while Tessa is driving by.

Camping off site is much easier. No rules. No line to check in.

Camping off site is much easier. No rules. No line to check in.

Wrong, nobody cares about the rules as long as your not messing with other people. It's easy enough to sneak things in. It's one line to check in and then nothing everyday to get into the venue. Plus your sooo close and don't have to deal with traffic. Not to mention the great atmosphere. If you haven't tried it I would.
