Would make a fucking insane Sahara headliner. I'll probably soil myself from all the insanity that will ensue. But hey, it would be interesting.

I'd take Aphex Twin over the two but either of them would make me very very happy.
If Autechre would join in I think it'd just cause a total collapse of everyone's fragile little mind.
YEAH HOW ABOUT APHEX TWIN VS. SQUAREPUSHER VS. AUTECHRE VS. µ-ZIQ VS. BOARDS OF CANADA VS. CHRIS CLARK VS. LFO VS. PLAID VS. PREFUSE 73 AND WE CAN ALL CIRCLE JERK EACH OTHER INTELECTUALLY UNTIL OUR COLLECTIVE BRAINS EJACULATE MIND FLUID
meh squarepusher
squarepusher tours quite a bit in the states for being squarepusher. aphex apparently will never play since he was put on the poster in 2001 before they secured him. other than that, all of those artists played except aphex and boc. oh, and clark.
Squarepusher has alot more energy then Aphex. Richard just kind of sits there and lets his music do the talking. Squarepusher just shoots it out there. Though maybe they could perform at the same time? That would be Effing EPIC...
aphex would make my year, really.
Aphex Twin's videos are creepy yet really, really cool.
please say you've seen 'rubber johnny'. now thats creepy.
So, I'm just recently getting into more electronic music. Hot Chip, The Knife, Boards of Canada, etc....
What Aphex album(s) is/are considered their best, most creative work?
EDIT: Actually...infor on any landmark release by any band would be cool. Sorry I'm off topic.

That would be a very hard question to answer, (referring to your Aphex question). It would really boil down to personal preference, as Aphex Twin's discography is so diverse in style that I wouldn't even try to say which CD's are best. I can however direct you to particular CD's in terms of how they sound.
If you're looking for some of his more "accessible" stuff, (using this very loosely), try checking out the singles Windowlicker or Come To Daddy. Both of which are intended to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but will definately enlighten you as to the absurdity of Richard D. James.
His most interesting work (in my opinion) is on the Richard D. James Album and I Care Because You Do. The first one is the pinnacle of his drill'n'bass IDM stuff (think insanely fast and grating break-beats set to beautiful and emotional synth orchestrations) and the second one is just as wierd but a little less on the drill'n'bass side (even downtempo at times).
Selected Ambient Works Volume 2 is a more conventional ambient album, there are over 20 songs and most of them are over 7 minutes long with no percussion, many of them are simply soundscapes but this CD will truly blow you away. Try it in an altered state of mind, not necesarilly high but I've had some wild/beautiful dreams while listening to this CD and falling in and out of sleep.
Drukqs is his most recent album and probably the least accessible. Lots of it is done completely on prepared piano (piano intergrated with a percussive element by adding various materials onto the strings inside), but some of his most abrasive work is on here too. I love to use this album as an example for people who are new to Aphex just to show off his diversity, as one song will be a soothing 2 minute piano piece and the next one will be a 200 bpm drill'n'bass orgy that sounds like a drum machine in an incinerator.
So again, I really couldn't recommend any of these CD's over the others because just as easily as someone could love the ambient stuff on Selected Ambient Works 2 they could hate it and appreciate only his drill'n'bass. So just listen to as broad a spectrum of it as you can and see what you like. Have fun.
no one can answer this question. what are you retarded? they would both create a black hole. i want richard to play with the little donkey rhubarb bears and in that playschool house like he did back in england.
as for squarepusher....why hasn't he been added yet?
For 2009, please bring Squarepusher and have him headline the Sahara, if you can bring Richard D James for 08, please have squarepusher, hopefully he bring his bass a jams out, he would blow heads off shoulders, just like Aphex twin did this year.
Aphex Twin is pretty disappointing in a live setting.
His music doesn't translate well outside the bedroom.
Squarepusher by himself would be good enough.
aphex twin's coachella performance was mind blowing. Best DJ of the entire weekend, hands down.
