Tornado warning issued for parts of Riverside County
Desert Sun Staff and Wire reports • May 22, 2008
The National Weather Services has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Riverside County, after a 10-mph line of storms was spotted near Perris, moving south. It overturned a big rig on Interstate 215 and toppled freight cars on the railroad nearby.
At 3:40 p.m., the National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a line of sever thunderstorms capable of producing penny sized hail.
The storms were located in a line extending from Redlands to Beaumont or just south of Redlands to Yucaipa. The storm was moving at about 10 mph, the weather service stated.
The warning will last until 5:44 p.m.
A tornado touched down near March Air Reserve Base in Riverside just after 4:30 p.m., Meteorologist Mark Moede said.
It lasted for at least six minutes and there were some prelimary reports of damage and overturned vehicles, he said.
"At least two people saw it," Moede said.
People are also reporting snow that is slowing down traffic on Interstate 10 in the Calimesa area.
yeah and also. it's not believing in climate change. it's what is causing the climate change that is in contention.

Guess you werent around when this happend on a decent basis.
Every native New Yorker is gonna pass out at APW, and every person from Cali or AZ is gonna feel nothing....
This weather reminds me of Texas last weekend, it rained abit but then got hot as s**t. Plus the humidity, blah.
You try Brooklyn at 95 degrees. Puts 110 here to fucking shame.
It's hailed in the LA area on many an occasion. I've seen and felt it. However, I did not get a glimpse of today's hail. I did, however, see the lightning storm and experienced some of the rain.
It is very weird during the end of May/Spring, tho. You really don't see that very often in the LA area.
