Honestly I'd just go to see Les work the bass.
As much as I'm ambivalent about their entire catalog, the man has a style all his own.
i hate you all

Noise and Anger? You aren't listening to the same band I am then. Primus have songs about fishing, Full Metal Jacket and beavers. I would hardly classify them as an angry band. And noise? To the untrained ear perhaps. Primus have incredibly complex ryhthms and all 3 guys are insanely talented musicians. Infact Primus are one of two bands who have a song in 8/11 time. The only other band to do that in the Greatful Dead.
Also, Les Claypool's vocals suposed to be rediculous and theatrical. They were originaly an instrumental group, but they wanted vocals. However they wanted to keep the group a 3 piece and they decided Les has the voice best suited for the group. The only reason is, his vocals were the only one wacky and zany enough to fit in with the music they were making.
Listen to Sailing The Chese and Frizzle Fry. Two completely genius and solid albums. Pork Soda is good too. However, after those albums, their catalog is a very hit and miss to me. Each of the later albums has its gems, but there are also alot of songs I couldn't care less for.
Trust me though man, if you EVER get the chance to see Primus, do it. They are absolutely amazing. My friend and I took our girlfriends to see them in 06, because we are both HUGE fans. Both of our girlfriends, mine especially now LOVE Primus. They are band some people just have to see live before they "get it."
Les has been touring lately. I saw him a few months ago.
Primus has been billed on various other festivals the past few years.
Anyone see "festaroo" directed by Les? Hilarious.

Les Claypool and all his projects will never play Coachella ever.
Perry Farrell has been at every Coachella
Les Claypool has been at every Bonnaroo
Neither one has been to the other and neither one ever will
Sorry douchenozzles but if you want Claypool or Primus go to the roo, it's not like it's a bad festival. Just skip Coachella next year and go to the roo that way I don't have to hear anymore of this stupidity.
I have seen him at Bonnaroo.
Bonnaroo is a hippy drug fest.

WRONG
They had auditioned many singers and Les being the ego maniac that he is didn't want any of them so he did it himself. The guys an asshole why do you think none of his bands are together anymore. He somehow managed to get rid of half the Fancy Band who were basically his puppets, he's awesome and knows it and is a dick for it.
Primus sucks !!!!
I have seen Primus twice, in '95 (Tales from the Punchbowl tour) and 2004 (they played two sets and all of Frizzle Fry). I also saw Col. Les Claypool and the Fearless Flying Frog Brigade in '01, they played Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
I chose Beck over Primus at Vegoose in '05 and I am stoked that OSL won't make me have to choose this time since Beck is on Friday and Primus is on Saturday !!!!

Primus live is always a good time. Hell, I think I've seen them a dozen or so times over the course of 18 years. A night with Les, Herb and Larry on the polo fields would suit me. Though the energy of them in the Mojave tent would be better than main stage.
I would love to see Primus.
While all my friends were crushing on conventional pop stars, my dream man in junior high was Les Claypool. What does that say about me?
Hell yes! MY NAME IS MUD!
Oh I would like that!
