and i didn't see the "smack my bitch up" video until way after all the hubbub and i was still impressed. they are definitely awesome

as for fatboy slim, i can't see him as THE greatest either. i've never heard anyone tell me how a fatboy slim show changed their life.
They became more "punk" in the late 90s, and I can see why you would feel that way. However, listen to Music For The Jilted Generation, which a solid
record that doesn't have alot of punk on it (besides their law). That record wasn't really exploited as a punk record.

yeah. That was when big names like The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy could do a US tour that was just that, an actual US tour that hit every part of the nation. Not some weak 6 city visit of the country.

Concerning Kraftwerk, I think the 15 year time frame means bands that began in that time frame. So... that's why they werent on the poll?
    Upcoming Shows:
    * Dillon Francis + Anamanaguchi -- December 28th

Going to Weekend 1 of Coachella 2014

    Exactly.
That's why I did the timeframe.

Its' to fucking difficult to make an ALL TIME poll.
You can only have 10 choices, and people will just flame you for all the bands you left out.
These polls are tricky as shit. I wish I hadnt forgotten Underworld and maybe putting Orbital, Lemon Jelly or more acts for that matter.

I'm not gonna say it changed my life, but...
This year was my first Coachella. Friday was full of conflicts for me, but I definitely got in some high quality acts (Aphex, Sharon Jones, Battles, Goldfrapp, Dan le Sac, etc...) Then I walk over to Fatboy Slim

All of the things I've heard on this board about the magic of Coachella came true during his show. He was about twenty minutes late, if I remember right, and all around I could feel the anticipation building. Not to get all hippie-dippie, but you could just sense the energy of the crowd gradually increase.
And the clock strikes midnight, and I hear Willy Wonka. While people around me are going apeshit, I'm just staring mouth wide open at the crowd and the stage amazed at the atmosphere. When he played Praise You right at the intro, I got gigantic goosebumps, and could feel the music moving in me.

    I voted for Fatboy

I understand now. And Chemical Bros. are my second favorite next to DP

    LAST 15 YEARS.

So does Underworld count or not?

    If they do, Underworld.

    If they don't, Prodigy.

Moby definitely needs some love here when it comes to being a torch bearer for the electronic dance movement that comes about with the Rave period. "Go" and "Voodoo Child" were right up there with "Charly" (Prodigy), "James Brown is Dead" (LA Style), "Little Fluffy Clouds" (Orb), "Chime" (i would put Orbital in this poll and expand it to 18 years, further than that, you're getting into Depeche Mode...further expansion, Kraftwerk). Out of all those acts in the early days, Moby and The Prodigy were the big pushers in the US underground. When commercial success met these "rivals", Prodigy got BIG, Moby got HUGE. Both had/have great live shows. Both have had some aging issues.

All that aside, my choice is between the Brothers and the Robots. Brothers are consistently great. Daft made it seem like all that came before was in preparation for them. The prophets heralded the coming of the merging of human and machine. Kraftwerk was Abraham. DP is the Messiah (oh, anyone remember "Temple of Dreams" by Messiah?..time to start running!)
