Hard choice to make with the exception of Justice...

I went with the Brothers because out of all the acts I've caught up there, (all except Future Sounds) they were the only ones that I remember the most of. Their track Midnight Madness is one of my personal favorites. I haven't heard if they'll be around the L.A. area any time soon, but I'd catch them again..

As much as I hate to admit it...

Okenfold and the album Tranceport, in my opinion, really brought rave culture and everything that goes with it out of the underground. However, a lot was going on back then to bring electronic music to the forefront. Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, Moby and the rest of the track-by-track pretend album DJs were responsible for bringing electronic music to car commercials. Fuck em. Moby was better when he was suicidal. Call me whatever you will, but the legendary mix albums of the mid to late 90s brought real electronic music, and the scene, out of the swamps.

That said, I fucking hate trance....and that pyramid was pretty neat.

Oh, and AT was by far and wide one of the absolute innovators of electronic music. Ricard D James is like the Velvet Underground of EDM.

By best I assume you mean "Who sold the most albums"...judging by the poll list. You forgot about the troopers who've been rocking since back in the day and innovating all along. Icey, Irene, Ron D Core, Ronni Size, Diesel Boy, Bad Boy Bill...all innovators...and wayyyyyyyy better than anything on that poll...

Underworld... great, but not the best. Daft Punk... great, but not the best at all. The Prodigy, fucking phenominal, but not the best. Justice, um, get over yourselves. No one will care in 5 years.

People it is The Chemical Brothers. They have continued to evolve and make some of the best electronica music the world has ever heard. You can listen to their albums all the way through and never get bored. They have collaborated with some of the best bands and musicians out there and continue to put on some of the most energetic and mind blowing lives shows all over the world. Do your homework and get out of the basement. The Chemical Brothers are and will always be the best.

As for my vote... I'd almost say Aphex Twin, but I can't choose between RDJ, the Chem Bros, Daft Punk and Fatboy Slim.

A lot of people should realize that it wasn't just the Chem Bros but Fatboy Slim who helped popularize electronic music way back when.

I actually have the 45 record of Underneath the Radar. It took me a while to realize that it was the same Underworld (yes I'm old!).

And I agree with an earlier poster - The Shamen were very influential.

Underworld "Dubnobasswithmyheadman" and "Second Toughest in the Infants" are my favorites. The Orb "Little Fluffy Clouds" is classic. I saw one of the best shows ever - the Orb at the Orpheum in San Francisco 1995-ish. Leftfield's album is amazing too if you are looking into expanding your musical horizons. Happy listening!
