    Default Latin Acts for 2009

Since no one has been mentioning the Latin Acts to play next year. I'll start it.

If there are a few bands I want to play it would be MANA (Mexico).

I would want for them to headline the main stage for one of the days because they are that big enough but since none of you guys would be open to that idea it be cool if they could be a sub-headliner.

Also I wouldn't mind having Julieta Venegas (Mexico) playing the fest again. She put on a good show in 07 that I got chills.

    Juanes (Colombia)

Enanitos Verdes (I forgot where they are from)

    Molotov (Mexico)

    El Tri (Mexico)
    Years gone to Coachella

mana? wouldn't happen. too mainstream. but i would watch them if i could. they're headliner material, but unfortunately not coachella headliner material.

    Vicente Fernandez for stagecoach 09!

too mainstream for a latin band is what i mean.
consider how much bigger they are (at least in socal) when compared to cafe tacuba. they sold out the staples center i think 4 days in a row.

damn 4 days. Knowing their fans, Majority wouldnt pay so much just to see one band. I'm assuming that most of them are just into spanish music the most.

Juanes sings a song for NASCAR. He's also at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio May 14.

    May I suggest a sing-off between Menudo & Jupiter's Ring.

Should we start threads for African American and Asian bands too?

Central America's bands only or are South Americans bands alowed? If so, could name a few bands that maybe would do better than Bonde do Rolê.

a joke of course. but chente live would be awesome anywhere. i've heard stories. 3 hours, getting drunk, and breaking shot glasses.

    as for south american bands:
Kassin+2 and Seu Jorge again (i missed him in 06 for Editors, stand by my decision).

i don't like the title of the thread, maybe "spanish language acts"

when i see "latin act" i think of someone like juan luis guerra or something.

coachella is more "rock en espanol" type acts.

and yeah mana would be HUGE, i doubt it though, considering when they tour they do a pretty grea job of selling out venues.

plus Mana = my mom wanting to coachella. i don't want to go to coachella with my mom

and juanes? he's the jack johnson of latin america, only not quite as sucky.

Molotov would be perfect for coachella. i kinda hoped they would have been booked for 08.

enanitos verdes, maldito vecendad, or even Los Illegales (although they maybe too punk for coachella)

EDIT: Pastilina Mosh would also be perfect, why i didn't think of them earlier?
