I hate that it has become the norm for bands to sell their music for ads....but
unfortunately a lot of it has to do with fans' reluctance to buy cd's anymore....when bands like Grandaddy lose a percentage of their album sales(which were never very big to begin with) to free downloading, it affects them much more than a band that is selling a million copies of an album.....it sucks, but if more people would actually support the more obscure bands they really like and buy their cds, then bands wouldn't have to resort to finding other ways to make money off their music

but yes, I agree......I want to see Grandaddy!!!!!

If you would say that, what about Justice - genesis in a dodge truck commercial, and Santogold in a bud commercial, and both of them make enough money, Grandaddy hasn't made an album in years

Would love to see them reunite for Coachella. Felt pretty slighted that they didn't even do a tiny tour for their final album. Good luck to whoever leads the charge to get them to all get together and show up.

At least the car commerical was for a product the band might actually feel good about promoting... a hybrid vehicle. Only saw the commercial 4 or 5 times though, so not sure about the song getting played out to the point that people wouldn't like the band.

I'm listening to the Fambly Cat demos he put online recently; they're great, and the album's great, but they're almost too painful to listen to cause they're so obviously 'band breaking up' songs... a reunion would help ease the pain
